OT - Upset Alert? EDIT - This Post Single Handedly Stopped NJIT from Scoring for 10 Minutes

Submitted by alum96 on

NJIT - what a weird team.  Lose to nobodies but make great games with UM and Nova.  Nova is 11-0.

48-47 with 14:27 to go!

No crazy stuff happening - NJIT shooting 48% (50% from 3 pt land) and Nova 45%.

Haha.  Well its not really in UM's interest for Nova to lose.  So a jinx is fine.  A UM loss to eventual 25-2 Nova would look good to the committee.  As would a NJIT team that took 25-2 Nova to the wire but lost.  So no bad outcomes here outside of a blowout by Nova.

And now YOU have blown it.  There hasn't been a major league hit for the entire month of December.  Eight days from a no-hit month...in fact, a perfect month for MLB pitching.

And tucked away on a message board SEEMINGLY awash in Harbaugh Only Harbaugh talk, you 'mention the no hitter'.

Oh well...when the national sport reporters are sitting around with NOTHING ELSE to report on early the first of January, we will all remember that it was YOU who jinxed the perfect no-hit month.

It'll probably be Billy Fuckin' Butler who breaks it up, too.

Guys you want Nova to be undefeated or 1 or 2 losses going into the tourney.  That makes that loss Kentucky like.  NJIT keeping it within 10 is fine.  They are 5-7 - they are not going to help us with their eventual 12-17 record no matter if they pull an upset.  It will just show they are a jump shooting team that can get hot on any single night and look like crap most others.

Disagree with mentality a NJIT win is good.   We want SMU Syracuse and Nova to win as much as possible from here on out.  EMU too (they are 10-2).  All those are potential tournament teams - so losing to tournament teams, with few losses is fine.  NJIT is a lost cause.  If we had not played Nova I'd understand the viewpoint better.

Don't let them get you down alum96.

"Jinx" and "Luck" do not exist. These concepts are crutches for people that don't understand  probability. I'm glad you pointed out the opportunity to follow an interesting game. I always want to know about a possible no-hitter. Who doesn't?

... I already jinxed NJIT in the Kansas-Temple thread below just before you posted this thread.  On the other hand, as an alum, I have a personal interest in Villanova winning, so maybe, according to the scientific laws that govern jinxing, I can't actually jinx a team that I'm rooting against.

Anyway, this game turned into a beatdown in a hurry.  Thanks, if you're the cause.
