OT: Unwanted M Gear Put to Good Use
Following-up on jeag's thread of "Michigan crap you got for the holidays" I thought it would be nice if MGoBlog had a basic intra-blog system where people could giveaway (or barter, I suppose) their unused and unwanted M gear to others who could put it to good use (almost like a freecycle system for us with the possibility of bartering).
It seems like many of us have at least one or two items sitting around the house that we've received over the years and never used or returned. Instead of letting them sit in our closets and collect dust, surely someone out there could appreciate it.
I quickly made a google spreadsheet and added a brand new item that is simply not my size. I'm not exactly sure if this will work, but hopefully it will allow for the charitable holiday spirit to continue.

Maybe next year we can get this going before the holidays, so it could be used to replace some shopping instead of just returning.
I'm certainly open to logistical suggestions.
Happy new year and Go Blue!

I wouldn't mind taking some Michigan items people were going to trash. Maybe pay for shipping? I feel like a begger.

The whole point of this was to put good M gear to use (not expose people's financial circumstances to the entire blog).

Tickets for the poor... tickets for the poor...?

I suppose I should have thought of the poor rather than brag/whine about having excess M stuff, huh? I guess I'm the asshole.

You're the inspiration behind this thread not the asshole.
Though, the idea seems to be a bust so far...

Could this stuff go to one of the many charities in the area?

This is merely an intragroup alternative that also provides some the opportunity to barter

We gotta find some way to get this stuff over to the third world. It warms my heart to see a Rueters photograph with some random Sri Lanken rocking a 1989 Rose Bowl shirt.

...chewing khat and sporting an AK

M gear is never truly unwanted or crap in my opinion. Got my fifth ClimaLite (this one long sleeved and blue) for Christmas. Couldn't be more pleased.

My intranets ego doesn't preclude my being able to admit I'm one broke son-of-a-bitch--and that I refuse to pay retail just to look like a college football fan.
Not to mention there are alot of guys here who are still in college--and here we have a guy willing to give stuff away or negotiate a price. I like it!
I know we're in the minority here--but some of us don't summer on the French Riviera, don't make six or seven figures salaries, aren't married to millionaire heiresses, and this is a good show b a guy who, unlike many, won't just toss his one-year old M gear into the trash.

if you improved your attitude toward math and worked on your math skills, you'd be making six or seven figures like the rest of us. Just sayin'

Not gonna do it. Math can suck it.

Maybe rather than devising a way to get KoB, er, Slim Moqueta a way to get free Michigan gear, people could give to their local Salvation Army if it's an item they don't particularly like.

In my house, not only is "unwanted Michigan gear" an oxymoron, but them thare is fightin' words! But seriously, charity is a good idea.

But, it didn't seem like people were giving their "unwanted" or unused gear to charity based on the prior thread where people listed all the stuff they had but didn't want/use, so I thought this might be a next-best idea.
