Joe can't move in his new sneakers?

Edit: this made some sense when the title did not have " University of" in it

Sure it will.  4, sixteen team super conferences are still on the table.  Just because Texas threw a wrench in the spokes this summer doesn't mean ADs and university presidents aren't still looking for opportunites.  The minor realignment we had with CU and Utah going to Pac 10 and NU going to the Big 10 is turning out to be just a dry run for the larger expansion which is still coming.

The Big 12 will get picked apart if we go to four sixteen team superconferences. The Big Ten would pirate the Big East and possibly Big 12, the ACC would pirate the Big East, and the SEC and Pac 12 would pirate what remains of the Big 12.

Doubtful.  Will there be new teams, sure.  But Texas runs the show down there and if it's up to them, which it was earlier this spring, the Big 12 ain't going anywhere.

A&M is always a package deal with Texas.  Do you think OU is going to leave the Big 12 for the Pac 10 (or anyone else)?  I don't think there's anything out there which would suggest such a thing.

Tech, Baylor, Okie State, KU, and KSU are likely cling-ons to Texas' cache.

Mizzou would continue to look to bolt.  I have no idea or guesses what would happen with Iowa State.

If anything the Big 12 would pirate the MWC.  It's reasonable to see the Big 12 extending offers to AFA and TCU.

That's a decent line up right there.  Who knows what else would happen in the panic and/or mad rush for other schools to align themselves with conferences as 16 team expansion begins.  For example, we may see Boise State go to the PAC 10, even though they aren't a research institution, as a compromise to fill out available spots.

But to say that Big 12 would get pirated isn't exactly the most cogent of thoughts and doesn't take into account how much power Texas has both academically and athletically.

I bet we see a lot of movement for those schools in the western states if the Pac-10 keeps gobbling up conferences. All 4 Universities in North Dakota and South Dakota recently moved to the FCS from Division II. (NDSU already has victories over Minnesota and Kansas, FWIW.) If the Mountain West or WAC is going to survive, they'll probably start reaching into the FCS in order to keep a full roster. If no schools are willing to make that jump, like Montana apparently is not, then I bet it's bye bye to the WAC after another decade or so.
