i believe that the WAC was hoping they'd make the jump so they could join.
OT - University of Montana stays put in D1-AA
I thought for a minute there the state was on the move. The people in Wyoming can relax now.
That would have been a big weight off their shoulders.
Don't worry, we are a pretty chill group of folks. We weren't that worried about it.
Montana, Notre dame's backup qb was considering transferring.
lack of family values
What I thought when I saw the topic...
Joe can't move in his new sneakers?
Edit: this made some sense when the title did not have " University of" in it
Montana is in the FCS or if you are like me and prefer 1-AA. They are not Division 2.
This email was sent by the AD to supporters earlier this year about what factors they were considering. It's an interesting read.
Smart move by Montana. In a few years the Big 12 will come knocking.
Why would the Big 12 go after a FCS school that can only deliver Montana TV sets? They'd sooner go after Air Force, BYU, Boise State, Cincinnati, etc. etc.
It was a joke. The Big 12 won't exist at all in a few years.
The Big 12 will get picked apart if we go to four sixteen team superconferences. The Big Ten would pirate the Big East and possibly Big 12, the ACC would pirate the Big East, and the SEC and Pac 12 would pirate what remains of the Big 12.
I've been cursed with the stupid today.
Apparently Big Fish/Small Pond sounded better.
why wouldn't it. If you have ever watched that team play, they are really really good. Very suprising to say the least
I bet we see a lot of movement for those schools in the western states if the Pac-10 keeps gobbling up conferences. All 4 Universities in North Dakota and South Dakota recently moved to the FCS from Division II. (NDSU already has victories over Minnesota and Kansas, FWIW.) If the Mountain West or WAC is going to survive, they'll probably start reaching into the FCS in order to keep a full roster. If no schools are willing to make that jump, like Montana apparently is not, then I bet it's bye bye to the WAC after another decade or so.
So, Montana convinced Notre Dame to go D2? They might be succesful there.
I only root for Montana State.
our long national nightmare is over.
