OT: Uniformz! KISS Style!

Submitted by boliver46 on

Apparently Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley own an Arena Football team - the LA KISS.  Their spin on UNIFORMZ is both awesome and crazy:

There are flames on the freaking visor, which is going to make the LA KISS running backs feel like they're storming through burning buildings.

But I just don't know about these bad boy uni's, even the font for the numbers.  Is it supposed to be a number, a chalice or a vibrator?

But if the theme of Kiss was always to "be outrageous" then I guess that it does work for the owners at least.

Whenever I see old rock stars with their "rock'd out immage" still in tact, I like to imagine them with short hair, a suit, and working in the real world.

Mr. Stanley looks like a Plaintiff's attorney who specializes in trip-and-falls.  He has his own commercial on late night tv.

looks like the black haired version of that sleazeball ambulance chaser I see on the Detroit/UM/MSU sports broadcasts in the GR area. The only lawyer that has more exposure is Bernstein. Can't think of this other wanker's name though.

What no live bear fighting?

These are arena teams, you need to do things crazy, appeal to children, whatever to get anyone to come.  I agree I prefer traditional uniforms especially for college.  I'll give expansion teams and minor league teams a pass.  I want to go there, watch the pitcher down a gallon of beer then throw a few innings for extra excitement.  Or minor league hockey fights etc.

KISS has always been about being outrageous.  This accomplishes that.  I don't see what the big deal is.  Great publicity for the team.  People will go to the games because 1) it's cheap, 2) they love KISS (the band), 3) they love the unis, 4) they hate the unis and just want to see if they're as bad in real life, and 5) it's a novelty with a limited shelf life (most probably)
