OT: UM Alum James Earl Jones to Appear on Big Bang Theory Tonight

Submitted by MGoVoldemort on

Like most of you, I'm a huge Big Bang theory fan so I thought others would be as excited as I am for James Earl Jones to be on the show tonight. With his Star Wars (Darth Vader) fame, I was hoping that he'd eventually be on the show, because the man is truly pretty damn funny. Go Blue!

I (sort of) come here for Michigan sports news and discussion but I also very much enjoy scanning the community's take on other subjects too.  So I don't mind off topics at all.  For me it's maybe a 50/50 mix.

In fact, I'd even welcome political  & religious discussions here but obviously most others wouldn't.

But when people cram the board with the most random OT "news" items -- "hey, former Michigan student Ann B. David is guesting on Castle" -- all the legitimate posts get pushed down and away. There has to be some standard. Just marking something OT doesn't make it worthwhile.

as I did twice for my sons, and his voice will bring tears to your eyes when he speaks of MICHIGAN.  It brought tears to my eyes ... they even handed out Kleenex for those that need it!  (granted the "boys" are now 30 and 26, but I sure hope they are using JEJ for the video still ....)

Go Blue!

The Big Bang Theory has to be one of the most overrated shows out there right now. It tries to be overly sophisticated but ends up along the same lines as other Chuck Lorre garbage such as Two and a Half Men.

I never said anything bad about James Earl Jones, and just because he appears in one episode of a show does not make me have to appreciate the entire series. Cendrowski has also directed episodes of Hannah Montana and other Disney Channel garbage. Point is, good people can direct works I don't appreciate. Doesn't make them any less of a person, but I don't have to be a fan just because he's a Michigan man.

Nah^^^, just different tastes.  I also am a huge Community fan (except the 4th season, obviously), Parks and Rec has been incrediblefrom season 2 to present day, and I really love Brooklyn 99, Terry Crews is hilarious in anything he does.

Something about CBS comedies.  I don't know, I just don't like em.  TBBT was decent, and a lot better than how I met your mother though.

I don't think it tries to be sophisticated, I don't know where that idea comes from. If it did it wouldn't be funny. In fact, for a bunch of supposed "nerds" (that is, the sitcom portrayal of a "nerd", which is often times over-the-top stereotypical but I can look past that), they're pretty dumb a lot of the times. But I mean...that's pretty much true of every sitcom. The characters do dumb shit for 23 minutes. I laugh at them. The end.
