OT-UK loses

Submitted by Dark Blue on

Only one number one seed left. The best part of this is that (1) We won't have to see that super-douche John Calipari sitting on the sidelines for the rest of the tourney, and (2) We won't have to hear all about UK's super one and done freshman. I honestly hope that the NCAA can find something that will expose Calipari for the cheater he is.

I can handle (1) & (2) if it means my bracket was right in saying Kentucky would be the NCAA Tournament Champs. But that went down the drain 20 minutes ago.

I would enjoy basketball more as a whole if they just got rid of the stupid one year of college rule and went back to the way it was before. Let kids choose. Wall didn't need a year in college, he didn't get a whole lot better at bball and as far as "education" is concerned...please...

I know a lot of kids make the leap that aren't ready and blah blah woof woof (anyone heard of the NBA draft committee idea? that would solve a great deal of probems with regards to high school players leaving early), but seriously college basketball is a complete farce. I'd rather watch the NBA. At least they have some level of honesty...

If he had put out that article BEFORE the everyone had done their brackets, I probably would have picked WV. I mean, when you're on a roll for being wrong, you're on a roll...

And his violations with this team?

Come on, I dont want to sit here and defend him, but it is a shame for us to be so accusatory in light of our own past problems.

For those of you who think I'm some kind of a downer, you're wrong. I graduated in 05 and cheer as crazily as anyone for ALL UM athletics. Come on, now.

Kinda close. This was the round where M beat Ohio State in OT to reach the final four.
Ah yes, I remember it like it was nearly 20 years ago. Rose missing the tying jumper at the end of regulation and Webber moving Chris Jent out of the way like a rag doll, then hitting the put back to get the game into OT.

EDIT I have been thinking about this all day. It may have been Funderburke that Webber abused

Heard all that vs. Maryland...then N. Iowa. Dude can coach. I'm just glad his PG isn't healthy, because they'd probably be favorites for the whole thing at this point if he was still around.

Here's for the tradition rich programs Final Four of Butler, WV, Tennessee and Baylor!

Tennessee is the first team they've run into that is more talented than them. Pearl is no slouch when it comes to coaching.

family living in KY this is a great moment. I was watching the game with a couple of them and it is just too unbearable listening. At one point some old guy that is my uncle's friend went on a rant about how Cousins is better than Wilt Chamberlain.(Not joking) I am not a WV fan but I was really happy they took KY down.

Is Michigan the home of the most insufferably self righteous fan base in the history of fan bases?

I think you mean self-loathing. Nothing we do or say to others matches our ability to mercilessly destroy our own fans double negatives and hanging participles.

Oh, and God help you if you use 6-8-6 in your haikus.

Calipari can't coach. He can recruit better than anyone, but he can't coach the talent he gets. Coaching of the players cost Memphis the title. Calipari can't coach.

Kentucky never figured out West Virginia's 1-3-1 zone and as a result the Mountaineers stayed in it nearly the entire game. "The 1-3-1 bothered us," Calipari said. "We tried different things and it bothered us more than I thought it would."
