All I know is that if I was an Athletic Director for a major university (or any for that matter), I would take a cab.
OT: UGA's AD Evans DUI
I hope he has a winning record, if so, all is forgiven.
Yeah - going to be interesting. Richt is on the hot seat right now as well.
who is pretty indifferent to UGA but who lives in the area, I can't get my head around this particular coach on a hot seat.( Icefins, looks like you may live in Georgia/Atlanta too?)
Bulldog fans are not happy about last year, certainly, and much of the Richt complaining got pretty vocal when they underperformed with Knowshon, Stafford and Co. in 2008, (and of course the decade and a half of Florida domination doesn't help), but I think Richt only trails Tressel, Meyer and Stoops in active winning percentage. He's 7-2 in bowls, and 2-1 in BCS bowl games.
I'm not quite sure who Dawg fans think they're going to bring in who's going to up the ante. There's a very small list of names to my mind who may be capable. Saban and Meyer are two of them, but they aren't coming. To me, this is one of those cases of "Be careful what you wish for."
Well, I don't. My wife is from Columbia, SC (now we live in Grand Rapids) and she is a Gamecock so I naturally know a lot about the SEC. But the UGA connection comes from a former coordinator at UGA that is a family friend.
Richt is a good coach - I agree, but he needs to step it up. It doesn't matter about his bowl record if he can't get to a top tier bowl. He is underachieving in many eyes and I can see why.
Pretty sure he had a winning record. I'd assume he is going to resign from his post of AD in the near future. Especially at a college, where they preach anit-drunk driving (rightly so) so often.
as opposed to those colleges that preach pro-drunk driving so often.
Isn't the President of UGA (who also began his professional academic career at Ohio State) a shadeball too?
Yeah - he is hated by almost everyone at UGA (alumni, educators, students, etc.). I know this because I had family friends on Richt's coaching staff. He fired Donnan when Dooley told him not to...and I think he consequently fired Dooley from a position there too.
drunk driving is not funny but his mug shot is. Looks like he couldn't even keep his eyes open
It should have a caption that says "Stay thirsty my friends".
Or does anyone else really care who gets a DUI? Just like the Tom Lewand situation, I could care less what he does in his personal life. This all started from the TMZ arena with celebs, now its bleeding into everything.
I am fully against drunk driving and think people in postion of power should think twice about their actions (same goes for the general public) but to me this is not news worthy... Anyone else feel this way?
When you represent a major university's athletic department, I think it is. Personal life or not, it's a huge hit for UGA.
... to download on the fly? I don't think so...
It's Evans' anti-drunk-driving video.... probably should have mentioned that the first time.
I love this comment about the mugshot:
Good god, he looks like an undiscovered species of bear that lives solely off fermented fruit somewhere in the foothills of the Himalaya. Behold the Tipsy Spotted Fruit Bear, weaving through the forest with its distinctive zig-zag gait.
he told the cop he was at the world's largest outdoor cocktail party...
that Georgia's AD has a DUI????
Doing some cleaning of the sports categories again. Apparenlty this post fell under "lacrosse." No idea how this relates to Michigan lacrosse, but I'm if you're that bored and want to try and relate it, have at it.
