OT: Typical Saban story
I wish this could be sent to the parents of every kid he recruits.

Yeah, I saw this yesterday. Let's be honest, there are a few explanations that he could have come up with other than that "captain of the ship" b.s., such as shock, that would have been plausible. The one he went with just makes him seem like the evil robot most of us assume he is. Turns out, some of his former players also think he is a an evil robot.

I don't know how he talks to recruits and their parents without completely turning them off. He must have very good assistants who can relate well to people and do a lot of the hands-on coaching.

He lets hotel rooms full of coeds do the talking for him.

Not to mention late model sportscars with bundles of cash stuffed in the glove compartment...
ALLEGEDLY

He has no soul

Karma has alligator blood. It may not bite him in the ass today but it's coming and when he least expects it. What a glorious day it will be for those who have been forced into medical hardships by this ego maniac.

Sadly, sometimes Judah Rosenthal coasts into the sunset. (Though Saban is probably more of a Lester.)

that is a terrific, albeit depressing, movie.

This is abnormal human behavior on so many levels. This is supposed to be a coach, mentor, father-figure for young people! Obviously the adults- the NFL players saw right through this shallow little man!
He may win football games, but I would never allow my son to play for him!

that Urban Meyer had to the camera person who passed out during his intro press conference. Showed no concern at all.

Their haters, Paaawwll! Saban was just teaching him how to be a man, just like the Bear woulda done.

We love Bo, but Bama fans are still soooooo obsessed over Bear. The guy hasn't coached in about 30 yrs...

Q: What do 'bama fans and maggots have in common?
A: They can both live off of a dead Bear for years.

That is great!!
December 8th, 2011 at 6:44 PM ^
...since in the pros you can't just put a guy on medical scholarship and go and recruit two players to replace him.

that when the guy came to he found himself outside the admissions office at North Alabama.

He must be able to flip on his human switch when he visits recruits. In Michael Lewis's great The Blind Side, he recounts how impressed Michael Oher's stepmom was with Saban's home visit. For one thing, she's an interior decorator and he commented on the style of her valances or some such thing. She also thought he was well dressed and something of a charmer. (In the movie version with Sandra Bullock, Saban plays himself re-creating that scene.)
Strikes me as snake oil, but this woman is nobody's fool… except maybe Saban's. In any event Michael went to Ole Miss and spared himself the other side of Saban.
Note: I use Dragon speech dictation software, and despite training it for accuracy it insists on hearing Saban as Satan.

That's because you trained it for accuracy.

Saban calls a team meeting about 10:30 that night, comes down and says, 'You know, the captain of the ship can never show fear or indecision, we've always gotta have an answer, and so I had to go upstairs, that's why I walked over Geno like that, I had to collect my thoughts and decide what's best for our team.'Sounds like George Costanza explaining why he pushed all the kids and old people out of the way of a burning house.

Evans is an unbiased source #goestoauburn

Was going to post the exact same thing. Not saying its untrue, but the source is a guy who loathes the program Saban currently coaches. Worth mentioning.
