this week in unintentionally grim-sounding recruiting headlines
OT- Tyner recommits to Oregon
Counteroffer was too low
Or Phil had a right to match it.
Can we please have Dawson back too?
I don't know. If Dawson really wants to play at Florida, then it's probably best, for him and everybody else, that he plays at Florida.
Or he got their latest spring line of uniforms ahead of everyone else
Apologies for being dense, but why is this good for UM?
So Oregon doesn't pursue green as hard
That is good news. Green would look better in blue anyways. It's a win-win.
wait. Green would look better in blue than he would in green?
Everyone looks better in Blue than they do in green. No matter what your last name is.
Oregon's uniforms aren't green. They may be silver, anthracite, yellow... but I don't think green is one of their school colors.
He has an official visit scheduled to Oregon next month.
Hopefully, they back off of Green now
I believe they were hoping to recruit 3 RB's this year?
Is this the quickest decommit and re-commit in history?
I sent that money to him western union, and the 800 number on the back said it had been picked up.
Strait cash homey.
When you're rich you don't write checks!
Some booster just got a sweet parking spot for the games.
hopefully this can only mean oregon isn't interested in green now.
They were recruiting Green when Tyner was committed (the first time) so it seems unlikely that they won't be interested in Green simply because Tyner re-committed.
Part of me knows that Oregon is basically funded by Nike. Once the owner/alum and school decided to take the "lets be crazy different" approach with facilities and jerseys all paid for by Nike, the FB team essentially became a branch of Nike. That alone helped recruits through anon survey choose Nike 16:1 over UA and 27:1 over Adidas. Mix that in with a wild success in offensive change around the same time (with growth in all areas since it started) and I can see why Oregon is good now.
However, something still stinks up there. Not saying it is with this kid or any other but I get the vibe that money is being "lost" in all of the donations and building and such. Kids like Nike. Kids like flashy uniforms and facilities but they also like money. The last few years have had Oregon involved in some pretty odd rumors and stories. Yes, investigation and all that but people are smart now. Paper trails and receipts aren't just left laying around or open like the old days. Heck, even when a State University in Ohio does have a paper trail and hundreds of emails they won't let you get to them. I guess my point is that it seems Oregon has tasted success and now they are willing to "play with the big boys" to sustain it. Just seems fishy. Jerseys or not, few kids from Texas, Ohio, Michigan, etc absolutely dream of playing for them. Haha. Yet, here we are.
