Never want to see a young man get injured, even if he chose a different school.  Let's hope it's not too serious and he starts his recovery soon.

of course he will. He just pulled 3 former walk ons scholarships the other day to make room for new recruits.

although i think they will pull massington's scholarship before they would isaac. he tore his acl and will miss the whole senior season and he struggled at the opening. who knows maybe he will pull both, he's a douche.

He didnt pull anything. Two of them will certainly be renewed. The last one will only not be renewed if THREE currently academically ineligble players ALL become eligible. And even if that happens, its still not 100% that it wouldn't still get renewed. http://espn.go.com/blog/los-angeles/usc/post/_/id/13871/tuesday-practic…

Ok so it might work out for the kids and they might get them back. It doesn't change the fact that he originally took away the kids' scholarships. I just think its a shitty move even if he just tenatively took them away. If he knew it would all work out why would he take away the 3 kids scholarships in the first place?

It just shows that he had no problem with dumping kids' scholarships that had earned them.

Once again, that is not a fact. For the second time, he did not pull anything. For the second time, they simply have not been renewed yet. Considering their scholarship situation, and since this is pretty common practice, it is likely that they were told that the scholarships might not be renewed when they were given to them last year. But to be clear, thats just speculation on my part, I would have to be a real douche to come on here and make definitive claims that werent true

No, they were not renewed. Thats why it was news then, and the only reason it was news again was that kiffin confirmed it and it was reported as them being "pulled," when in fact nothing had changed. And looking a little further into this, it appears that these kids knew this was the situation last year when they were put on scholarship, and all of them will end up getting renewed

Regardless of where he was bound, you especially hate to see kids go down to injuries that could potentially keep them out of commission a while such as a possible fracture in the shoulder (MRI results pending, of course, per the story). Hopefully, there is no structural issue and he is back with his team sooner rather than later.

I assume you made the exact same observation about The Count's passing. And on all the Friday Night What Are You Drinking threads. And on every post about the Tigers and Red Wings and probably half of all the other posted comments during the off-season, because every damn one of those has LESS to do with Michigan sports than an article about a highly-sought after football recruit that the vast majority of us were hoping if not praying would commit to Michigan.

I classify posts like this with the useless non-UMich obituaries. It's not Ty Issac is off-topic; rather, it's the idea that no interesting discussion can be expected to occur (other than silly Kiffin remarks). What's anyone supposed to say other than "Sucks ... hope the kid gets better?" It doesn't have enough value as pure news, either, IMO.

I don't generally consider the (Detroit, not LSU) Tigers on-topic and I wish there were fewer posts about them, but at least something like "Is Verlander having his best/worst month?" is a topic where you could expect to see a diverse set of responses. This post, not so much ...

I hope he gets better in 5 years and enjoys free college and hot chicks. These kids are so lucky. People act like he was stricken with a brain tumor.

Is now setting his sights on University of Shifty Cash.

Next thing you know it will be players getting STDs from Kim K and Lane showering with inner city boys.

/S for those impaired.

Feel sorry for the kid, but he might still get back by playoff time. Seriously if you are the school that gets him, this is not necessarily a bad thing. It will save on a lot of pounding. A guy like this probably gets 30 touches a game and teams are surely gunning for him.

You know he'll be working like a mad man on his conditioning too.

USC got themselves a stud.
