OT: Tuesday Night Footbaw Open Thread

Submitted by BlueVoix on

Because Boise State versus Louisiana Tech couldn't wait until Saturday.

And also because your work week is crushingly depressing and yes, even WAC football will do.

I'm a little disappointed, though.  Tuning in at 8:06 EST, and Boise hasn't scored yet.  Nevermind that the game just started *laughs*

Side note, the commentary team has already earned a half dozen facepalms from me in about 2 minutes.  I know it's just Tuesday night football, ESPN, but can you not do better than "He's a coach's player; not a player's coach, but a coach's player."

Saturday - Michigan, and a few other assorted teams

Sunday - M alums and some other guys

Monday - same as Sunday

Tuesday - non AQ football

Wednesday - Big East football

Thursday - ACC football

Friday - HS football

Rinse and repeat.

I agree that Quaker fights suck.  They try and be all creative by adding buckles to their helmets just to draw attention to themselves and so it gives people that normally wouldn't care something to talk about.

Someone had to try and 1-up Boise and their smurf turf.

"you're looking live at the Elkhart County Fairgrounds, where this man - Jacob Yoder and his trusty fighting iron from True Value will engage in mortal combat with this man - Wilhelm Bontrager, a plucky and up and coming young Amish man who some say swings the handle better than anyone since the legendary Amos Hostetler"

No, nevermind. She'd fuck that up too.

I sort of get the impression ESPN might have messed up their planting of the mics around the audience.  On several plays, it actually sounds like there are only 35,000 people there or so.

Is there anything more annoying than watching a team with blue uniforms on a blue field?  I am silently hoping boise gets some BCS respect so they can shitcan the blue turf.

I'm shocked more teams haven't adopted the "color field" idea.  It is clearly an advantage for BSU, so why wouldn't East Carolina go with the all purple field?  Rutgers would look stunning with an all red field.

LT seems to be gashing them on the ground this drive.  Just tuned in.  Have they been successful on the ground this game?

EDIT: of course as I say this, they stall out.
