OT: Troy Smith Cut
im not sure if this was posted, but troy smith was cut by the ravens. I guess a heisman trophy doesn't exactly translate to success in the nfl.

My Eric Crouch, Jason White, Geno Torretta and Danny Weurffel Pro Bowl jerseys are yet to hit the shelves. What gives?

May he rot in eternal Hell.

And to think he was going to start got mono and a rookie joe flacco took the job and never looked back.

Yeah, I still remember thinking that was some of the worst luck in recent memory. Of course, I'm not sure he would have kept his spot considering Flacco did not set the world on fire early on and Smith still couldn't wrestle the starting spot away or become attractive enough for a trade. Still, he'll wind up somewhere.

Having worked for the Ravens for 9 years now, I can tell you that Troy was a good guy, believe it or not.
Maybe a little too big for his britches, as an NFL locker room could give less than a damn about college achievements. He learned the hard way.
He & Harbs never really saw eye to eye and I'm sure somewhere deep down, part of that was because Troy was an OSU kid... but he was cut because Troy thinks he's an NFL caliber starting quarterback and the Ravens staff doesn't agree with him.
I hope he catches on somewhere, though. I hate to talk well of the enemy, but we got along well in spite of his alma mater. (And yes, I let him know numerous times that his OSU shoulder pads were probably what was holding him back.)

Pat White was also cut. I hope this translates to Denard staying for his senior season.

...he still has the bragging rights of never losing to U of M and making U of M football look foolish.
