Just announced on 97.1 The Fan.  Tressel will review replays in the booth for the Colts.  He's getting paid to watch the game.  Sign me up.

Edit:  In CBus, not Detroit.

If he sees a bad call on a third down play that would give the Colts a first down will he still want them to challenge it?  After all, his favorite play is the punt.

Does he have to serve a 5 game suspension for "making decisions that undermined the integrity of coaching"?  Maybe TP will still appeal his NFL suspension after all.

After the Colts/Bengals game I was waiting by the Colts buses to say hello to my friend who is on the Colts. Before any Colts came out, I noticed a red Mustang leaving under police escort. Who was driving the Mustang? None other than Jim Tressel. If it makes everyone feel better, a couple people heckled him as he drove off (his windows were open).

I don't understand why Tressel would take this job.  With his knowledge of X's and O's, I can't imagine he couldn't get a better job in the NFL than that!  And if not this year, he's got enough money to take at least one year off (I assume).  Its embarrassing!

Totally agree.  This sounds like a job for a 22-year old who's putting in his work to start a coaching career.

On the bright side, the NCAA might actually have a "look what can happen to you if you cheat" poster child for coaches.

Teams already had their coaching staffs hired by the time Tressel was fired. There are only small jobs like this available. If he wants to work this year, it has to be something like this.

And Tressel's X's and O's knowledge is not exactly superb. I don't think anyone would view his an a viable candidate for an NFL offensive coordinator position. Quarterbacks coach is probably his apex at the pro level.

Does this make sense to anyone?  Why would Tressel take this job?  Does it count as being on an NFL coahing staff?  Unless, it pays really well in which case I will have another reason to question my job choice.

I like the hire. As a Titans fan, it gives me yet another reason to hate Indy.

In related news I saw where Bruce Pearl took a marketing exec job with HT Hackney Co. Laying low and getting paid is probably the better route to go if the SweatVest wants to coach again.
