OT: Tony Dungy to appear at Downtown Ann Arbor Borders on August 8th
I just received an e-mail about Tony Dungy coming to the downtown Ann Arbor Borders on August 8th, 2010 at 4:00 pm to discuss his book The Mentor Leader. The details can be found here: http://www.borders.com/online/store/EventView?city=&state=&zipCode=&wit…;
I watched Dungy beat Huron by about 35 when he played QB and ran the option at Jackson Parkside. Huron's program was still very new, while Parkside was a very good team. I got very tired of hearing Dungy's name over the PA. He was already a leader back then; I haven't been surprised at how his career has gone.
You're sour because some guy was a successful Michigan high school QB and then went on to do tremendous things in the NFL?
He wasn't being sour. It was a compliment. I remember hearing Donovan McNabb's name over and over and over again as Syracuse beat up the Blue, and as sick of him as I was by the end of that game, I knew he'd be a pro - so yeah McNabb was pissing me off, but I had to tip my cap to him for a job well done.
I don't think Dungy has any enemies.
Would he be on the list for a possible head coach here should Rich not survive after this season or is he too old?
I will be there. Boo ya.
