That Skyline team is ripping people apart (though I don't think their district is any good). Can't wait to see what they do in the playoffs. In other DFW recruiting news, Stephen Hopkins went for 93 yards on 22 carries in a loss to Coppell. His team only gained 98 yards in the second half, so pretty good output considering the team's struggles. FM Marcus has lost two in a row and probably needs to win the next two weeks to secure a playoff spot. http://www.scntx.com/articles/2009/10/24/sports_update/82a.txt

yeah although Skyline is undefeated and #2 in state they are in a very easy part of their schedule. The true test will be once playoffs start. I hope FM Marcus makes it to playoffs as I haven't made it up there (I'm in arlington) yet to watch Hopkins run. Thanks for the link on Hopkins. On yet another DFW note: We had Stephen McGee (former Aggie QB and 3rd string QB for Cowboys) checking out the Arlington High vs Arlington Bowie game last night. In Texas these Friday nights are hard to beat.

Maybe they are both looking for some good football to watch since it ain't happening when the Boys play. I lived in Grapevine 5-10 years ago and of course up there you would often see players at the Southlake/Colleyville/Grapevine/Trinity games. That was a great district before this last UIL reorg. Watching Nate Newton, as he watched Tre run HB at Carroll was one of the more entertaining things I have seen.

I went to Carroll too many years ago to mention (we were still in 3A back then) and the Nate Newton sideline moments are by far my favorite Dragon memories. Nothing like having a national TV crew interview a player's dad and have him basically say his kid shouldn't go to a big time school (after Tre had committed to Texas) because he didn't have enough talent to ever see the field. Nate literally said, "I think he should go somewhere where he'll get a chance to play." Also, driving a Scooby-Doo van full of reefer across Texas (even after getting busted for doing it once) is badass. I heart Nate Newton.
