OT: TomVH: Bloggers with Google AdSense
I had a question for anyone that has a blog/website, and uses Google AdSense. What kind of money have you seen from it, is it very minimal? Any success from using it?
I'm just trying to get a feel for what your thoughts are about it. We're going to be adding it to U Recruit soon, and just wanted to get an idea of what range of money people actually get from it. Once we've experimented with that we'll be selling ads for more money and everything, just wanted to start here.
This is one of the best blogs I've read about how to make money off of your blog.

Steve writes a lot about AdSense and even gives month-by-month figures for his blog.
On an unrelated topic, just a quick question Tom: do you check the "forums" area of the website often? I was looking around on the site and it seems like certain people aren't really interested in recruiting news and are just using that area to post unrelated links over and over again. I just wasn't sure if you were aware of it.

Yeah, I set those up as more of a test. We haven't really used them, or marketed them for people to use yet. We've had problems with Drupal and Mollom, so we're switching to a different system.
Once we're switched over the forums will be cleaner, and we'll start to push that people use them. They're basically there right now for me to see how it would work, and how to set them up.
Jack shit.

I haven't made a ton of money from it, but I don't get a lot of traffic. I'm sure there are better ways to monetize your blog/site, but I have no illusions of being a full-time, professional blogger.
