OT: tOfficial First Day of NFL Free Agency

Submitted by Geaux_Blue on

Could technically be on topic due to Wolverine movements (including the Webb signing) but meh. Movement/discussions began at 10 AM for free agents and I know this is a special time for Lions fans. Personally I'm waiting to see who gambles big on Reggie Bush.

-Hasselbeck released by Seattle

-Eagles release EVERY UFA on roster

-Carson Palmer retires rather than play in Ohio another season

-Roy Williams cut. Best Lions trade evr?

-Lions rumored to be making a push for Cincinnati's CB Johnathan Joseph

- Kentucky running back Derrick Locke has joined the Vikings (Source/WWL)

-Cancer survivor Mark Herzlich joins the Giants

-South Carolina tight end Weslye Saunders to the Steelers

-Jake Delhomme may be cut from the Browns today

-Mike Hart picked up a blocker with TCU's Jake Kirkpatrick going to the Colts

-Broncos offering to trade Orton (lulz)

-Eagles sign everyone ever undrafted

-Henne Watch: Delaware quarterback Pat Devlin joins Dolphins

-Lions add Wisconsin-Stevens Point WR Jared Jenkins and Kent State linebacker Corbani Mixon. Lions expected to pick up Purdue WR Keith Smith (HT: Pride of Detroit)

-Nick Barnett likely out at Green Bay

Discuss.

It was really nice to see mark herzlich already get signed by the Giants, after all he has overcome in his life it's great to see him make it to the NFL.

I am also happy to see Herzlich get signed. I am also pumped to see where all these big name guys go. I am a Chargers fan so hopefully they get their shit straight and resign some guys. Really excited to see where Nnamdi Asomuha (sp?) ends up at. Texans could really use his services, also am hearing Ravens. Its going to be an exciting couple weeks.

Both Mike Hart & Joseph Addai were posted yesterday on the Colts' list of declared free agents.  Others of interest, the Cardinals list both Steve Breaston and Gabe Watson, Dhani Jones (Bengals), Prescott Burgess (Ravens), David Baas (San Francisco), Todd Collins (Bears).  There are probably more, but it's a long list and I haven't had my coffee.

Great to see him get signed by Philidelphia.

West Bloomfield High Alumnus, great guy and great family.

Congrats to him and good luck. Happy to have him representing the state of Michigan.

He just did an interview on The Fan here in Columbus.  He said he is excited to be working with his former Michigan position coach Andy Moeller again.  I think that counts as something he said that is positive about his time in A2 so I should wish him luck.  If anyone can build him into an NFL lineman, Moeller can.

but according to the rules, another team would not be allowed to contact said player before he is officially cut by his team.  HOWEVA,  I'm just going to agree with you because I don't want to get into a legal/ethical argument, it's already gonna be overwhelming trying to follow everything that will happen this week, nothing will be official as far as cuts go until thursday and no signing until friday?

John Clay to the Steelers. I wouldn't be surprised if Tomlin looks for him to fill a Bettis-type role since he'll have a few inches and 30+ lbs on Mendenhall. Either way, I just don't see Clay being a prolific back in the NFL. That's not to say he won't be a good back, just not a superstar.

Woohoo one of my best friends Travis Baltz (Punter, Maryland) was signed to the Colts. Kind of weird saying bye last night haha. For all of you Toledo residents, he went to Anthony Wayne.

Am I the only one who cringes when I see a non-OSU fan (and especially a UM fan) use the lower case "t" in front of another word to substitute for the word "the?" That's an OSU thing and I don't think UM fans should be doing it due to its extreme LAMENESS.

Also, noted Michigan man Braylon Edwards thinks Jets aren't interested in resigning him. He would love to be back, but doesn't think feeling is mutual
