He fucked them royally with dumb decisions. He then is stuck standing there looking dumb until the plane leaves. What manager would give up on a ball team? It isn't like it's a real job or he is at war. It is a sport that you play for fun. I get this is viewed as stressful to some of you, but that alone makes me question your toughness and life experiences. I would love to have Jim's stressful job. I will take stress over actual hard work any day. Especially if I can yell fuck yeah at work and play baseball.

I think it's the ankle. He torqued it a bit making that play--might not be much on a healthy ankle, but that can seriously aggravate one that's already hurt.

Wasn't super-hard, though, he may be back for the rest of the series. Keep in mind that he is fatigued after a 12-inning game.

He fouled a ball off of his left foot and at times looked like he had difficulty running the bases, except when he tripled against O's on Wednesday and then scored from first on a double Friday! I think he was just milking it....now it appears he has a legit injury to play with?

Upside here: We're blowing through the entire Yankee bullpen, which they may need tomorrow with Koroda on three days rest.

Wouldn't be surprised if the game is pretty high-scoring tomorrow, regardless of result here.

Yes!!!!

What a gutty, gutty win. Huge.

It was huge anyway, but the way it happened--massive. The Tigers have some great players, but they're clearly a real *team*.

What a brilliant move by Leyland: Deliberately putting Valverde in to blow the game, so he could win the game later, so that there would be no question that we would never see Valverde closing again in later games where the stakes were even higher.
