OT: Tigers - Yankees

Submitted by BOX House on

Detroit is coming off a brutal sweep at the hands of the not-so-powerful Mariners. Verlander on the hill and looks like the Tigers are going to have to lean on him once again.

Probably a little too early to be seriously concerned just yet, but what's the deal with the Tigs offense? Seems that Prince has yet to truly find a groove thusfar in Detroit.

Thoughts on when Delmon Young will be back in the lineup?

As a Yanks fan, hopefully these offensive struggles continue, because I don't see us having a good day vs Verlander.

Sigh, it's tough to root for Grandy because he's a Yankee now but he is quite possible the nicest and most humble guy in sports that I've had an interaction with. Always will be one of my favorite players despite the pinstripes

They need a new hitting coach.  They have never really hit the ball well under Lloyd except for the first half of the 2007 season.  We will also have to go shopping for another Fister if Scherzer and Porcello can't get straightened out.

Three straight singles!  Congrats to Miggy for career RBI 1000.  A big inning on taps here: 1 run in, no outs, 2 on with Fielder up.

EDIT: 4 straight... weird to see so many seeing-eye singles in a row.  We'll take it.

Good to see the offense really clicking tonight. Still pretty concerned about Boesch, though. He has really been struggling in the early going of the season after many predicted a breakout year for him. It's early, but I think the Tigers might have to move him out of that 2 spot.

I don't know at this point... I'm starting to think this team just ain't as good as everyone thought they were going to be. That's 5 in a row now.

I agree, its still April, the bats will heat up with the weather. However seeing the back end of the bullpen struggle aside from Dotel and Coke is a bit troubling. Benoit already has 9 walks I believe and he only had 17 all of last year, throw strikes boys.

Another sloppy affair. Yanks were probably a little less sloppy than the Tigers, but still, not aesthetically pleasing. Would love to see the Tigs make routine plays. That being said, who gives a shit, it's still April, the Tigers are right in the thick of it, the bats have yet to thunder and Fister has yet to contribute.
