OT: Tigers World Series Journey - Game 2
Fister vs. Miilone. First pitch at 12:07. Would be a really big win for the Tigers to start the playoffs 2-0 and only need to take 1 of 3 out in Oakland.
Bless You Boys has a good preview up.
Go Tigers!

Ugh, I don't want to know who's coming out to pitch the 9th for us. Assuming it'll be Coke, but he's not been good this year.

Here comes the Phil Coke heart attack

This game is going to be the end of me.

Phil Coke is horrible. He does not deserve a post season roster spot based on how he has pitched. What is the good in having a left hand reliever, if he cant get left or right handers out. That guy sucks.
October 7th, 2012 at 3:20 PM ^
Wow, attaboy AlAl! I'm about to have a heart attack here.
October 7th, 2012 at 3:20 PM ^
Way to go AlAl!!!

Got out of the inning! Walk off time!
October 7th, 2012 at 3:20 PM ^
whew ...dodged a bullet there. Hope they leave Coke off the next series roster, if they get there. He blows.
October 7th, 2012 at 3:25 PM ^
It's bullshit that this game is on MLB network, but I will say that these announcers are way better than Joe Buck.
October 7th, 2012 at 3:28 PM ^
Omar Infante is on first with one out and Miggy up
October 7th, 2012 at 3:30 PM ^
"There is no one sitting in Comerica park *sees people sitting right behind home plate* except for those people behind first base, but they have great seats".
Good save...good save.
October 7th, 2012 at 3:31 PM ^
Miggy singles! Runners at the corners with one out for Prince!
October 7th, 2012 at 3:32 PM ^
Intentionally walking Prince now to load the bases.
October 7th, 2012 at 3:34 PM ^
Right move with the IBB to Prince. What will Donny Ballgame do?

October 7th, 2012 at 3:39 PM ^
figuring this game out on the CBS tracker. All my whole freaking life tuning in to the playoffs on radio as I knocked around the house has been one of my great pleasures. Curse the stupid MLB!
And P.S. yay Tiges!
October 7th, 2012 at 3:44 PM ^
a stream was posted above in the first inning...
October 7th, 2012 at 3:48 PM ^
the eighth inning.
October 7th, 2012 at 3:53 PM ^
Weird. Worked well for me. I actually paid 5 bucks for the MLB online stream before I saw that post though and wound up watching vipbox because the lack of replays on mlb was annoying.
October 7th, 2012 at 5:04 PM ^
What is the vipbox link? Firstsports.eu had only 1 link up and it was one which required the installation of spyware to view the stream. :(

The ESPN scoreboard shows "Tigers win series 2-0". Huh?

Tigers win, series 2-0

Either you or the ESPN scoreboard is leaving out a crucial comma.

I have a screen shot.

Don Kelly scored the tying run and knocked in the winning run. Goes to show you never can tell.
October 7th, 2012 at 4:11 PM ^
How about the young fella Avisail Garcia? Out there in the outfield playing laser tag in the middle of a playoff game. Say hello to your Tiger opening day RF in 2013
October 7th, 2012 at 4:52 PM ^
Hopefully not.
October 7th, 2012 at 4:59 PM ^
Why the heck not? How can you argue with .319 in his pre-rookie year, and defensive chops like that? Who you holding out for, Jason Heyward?
October 8th, 2012 at 11:21 AM ^
Because I actually follow the Tigers minor leaguers, and am well aware that unless he takes huge strides forward during the offseason, that Garcia isn't ready to hold down a regular starting spot in the big leagues.
October 8th, 2012 at 12:29 PM ^
Well, who would you like? Garcia certainly did not look unready this past month and a half. There isn't anyone else close to the bigs. We're not signing anyone; a lot of players have raises due and pretty much every dollar of salary savings we get this winter is going to guys who are making peanuts right now and will get those well-deserved raises. Garcia has already been better than Boesch and comes cheap. You put Dirks in left and Garcia in right and you get a cheaper outfield that hits more consistently and plays better defense. How do you go wrong with that? And in "actually following" the minor leaguers, what do you see in Garcia's .312 BA and .810 OPS at Erie that makes you proclaim he's not ready?
October 7th, 2012 at 5:18 PM ^
We could have a really good line up next year is Garcia ends up to be the real deal and Martinez gets back to 100%.
The line up could be
- Jackson (CF)
- Infante (2nd)
- Cabrera (3rd)
- Fielder (4th)
- Martinez (DH)
- Dirks (LF)
- Peralta (SS)
- Garcia (RF)
- Avila (C)
That would be scary good. I'm curious to see if we end up keeping Delmon around after this season.

October 7th, 2012 at 7:31 PM ^
It'd be glorious. Having a 3-6 of Cabby, Fielder, Hamilton and Martinez. Oh the things our offense could do.
October 7th, 2012 at 7:55 PM ^
Obviously that'll never happen, but I'd go from six to midnight in a hurry if it did, and probably stay that way all summer.
October 7th, 2012 at 7:19 PM ^
Nope, Peralta needs to go. No range and his bat was ice cold this year.
Get Elvis Andrus then we'll talk.
October 7th, 2012 at 7:33 PM ^
Andrus isn't a free agent until 2015 though, unless you would like to trade for him.
October 7th, 2012 at 10:00 PM ^
The Rangers called up their top SS prospect, so Andrus may be more available than we think...
