OT Tigers vs Red Sox Thread

Submitted by save_me_forcier on

Would be nice to keep the momentum going this series. Scherzer gives up 5 in the first (I've had about enough of him)

Mod Edit: Reminder, Tigers may seem like baseball, but they aren't "baseball" when it comes to categories. Good luck and go Tigers.

Never seen Scherzer pitch before this season, man this is tough to watch, I'd rather see Bondo or Willis than this. Guess we have to stick it out since he  was the center piece off the big off season deal

Well, we did get Austin Jackson and Phil Coke, too, and Danny Schlereth is in Toledo refining his game as well. We still should come out ahead on this deal. Edwin Jackson isn't exactly imitating Nolan Ryan in Arizona, either.

say what you will about scherzer, but outside of the first inning he's been quite solid.  only two hits since, once of which he turned into a double play.

somehow david ortiz and miggy cabrera decided to switch today.  ortiz is eating us alive.  miggy has stranded 3 and grounded into a DP.

Wow. Someone was pissy and negged everyone here. I've fixed that as best as I can.

As for Scherzer, I don't know what to think. After reviewing his numbers in Arizona, it doesn't look like his arm was overused.

I'm sorry, would you really rather have Edwin Jackson?

Also, it's baseball. You'll have bad games. It happens. Cabrera isn't going to hit 3/4 with 4 rbi's every night.

Me? I'd definitely rather have Scherzer because he has way more upside. When this deal was made though I was definitely a bit skeptical because Scherzer has a ton more talent than Jackson and it really seemed like Arizona gave up a lot in the deal.

with Aquaman....maybe sit Sherzer out for a turn, check his arm out and see if there's a problem. If not, then Knapp may have to find something in his delivery, mechanics or something because I believe he's better than he's shown so far.

Plus he has those crazy blue/brown eyes!!

Well, they may not have intended for Jackson to be the centerpiece, but it appears that he's deciding that for himself, at least early on.
