Well with JV on the mound tonight, let's hope we can take 1 of 3 from the Indians and get back to a 3 game lead in the division.
my Sox can take 3 of 4 from Baltimore to stay in this race. Going to be a fun month and a half between the Tigers, Indians and White Sox. Lots of games to still be played
Fuck the White Sox.
Since I don't have 100 MGoPoints yet, I can't formally +1 you or vote up your post, so here it is.
Tigers take advantage of an error, Magglio with a sac fly to bring in AJAX. 1-0 Tigs.
Spot JV a run without the benefit of a hit, pretty good start.
Nice catch by Fukudome. Rod Allen claimed good base running by Jackson not being half way done the line when the ball was caught by Fukudome, but I thought it was pedestrian base running
Why do you consider that pedestrian? He saw the ball might be catcheable so he waited a bit. If he waits, he scores either way. If he runs from the get go then when the ball is caught he probably doesnt make it home.
I agree with you and thought Rod Allen was providing a little fluff, trying to make it sound like Jackson did something out of the ordinary. I think 99.99% of Major Leaguers would have played the ball the same way.
Squeeze! With JV on the mound and a 4 run lead, this game may as well be over.
/knock on wood
OT. Tigers sign top draft pick and he is a catcher. Yeah
Glad we signed a catcher. Anyone know if he has any relation to Brian McCann?
Damn! Brian McCann might be the best catcher in baseball. Let's hope we got a catcher who can back up Avila.
Sorry if I misunderstood what you meant. Solid play by the tigers nonetheless. Also, with a little luck and a very well executed sac bunt, the tigers are off to a great start.
4 run lead for 'lander? This should be over.
Knock on wood, dear sir.
I'm going to hold off on that. I said the same thing in a Tigers-Royals thread his last start and we had to hold on to win 4-3.
Generic Leyland rant, "well why don't we squeeze more often?"
We ought to chip in and send Verlander a great big golden butcher knife. He's been carving guys up all year.
Yes, I know that's a horrible one-liner, but I couldn't help it.
Well, it should probably be a carving knife then. Butcher knives are more for chopping, kind of like a cleaver.
Yeah, but that would have given away the joke long before I wanted to.
+1 to you all the same, though.
Interesting seeing the Indians getting into a small altercation inbetween innings. I know it was probably delayed, but I'm stuck on MLB network, and they are amazing at keeping people in the loop.
It was an extremely lazy play by Santana in my eyes.
That could have been a kill shot if that gets into the outfield. Dammit.
I preferred the dancing texting annoying little girl from 2 nights ago to the jack ass behind home plate right now
I think some Indians personelle told him to stop. Guy in a blue shirt. Anyone see that/
Is hes a jackass.
What was he doing a few outs ago, "Roll Tribe Roll?" My dead grandpa dances better than that man...
the Tigers wont score anymore runs and end up losing it?
one Tiger girl....dont know her name. She looks like the All-American girl next door.
The other one looks kinda trashy and fake.
Their names are Lauren and Allison, I think. Lauren is the one that needs to eat a cookie and hold it down. Allison is the one you're thinking of and yes, she's flat-out hot.
ckersh74 for the info. You are right...Lauren needs a few cookies and she does not come close to the sex-appeal of Alison.
When you can seem sexy and hot without even showing any cleavage, you are special.
She's not with the team tonight, but Shannon Hogan has a nice rack, too.
i could hear the question " need new tires?" a few more times during the course of the game/season.
The commercials on the Tiger games are just mind-numbing...
Between that and the dumbshit daddy on the Little Caesars commercials, I'm convinced that FSD is telling advertisers to make the dumbest commercials possible.
At least they got Richard Bernstein to look in the general direction of the camera. Look. It's not his fault he's blind. He gets a free pass here. However, the producer needed to make the adjustment so that he doesn't look like he's staring at airplanes. The guy kinda needs some help in that regard.
Also, the Bernstein people need better people to put in front of the camera for their clientele. The one guy looks like he weighs about 425. He doesn't have a neck, likely because he dunked it in ranch dressing and deep-fried it. I love how he looks into the camera and talks about how "after the accident, I kinda knew I was gonna have problems". Big boy, you probably weren't very little in the first place. Then they put the half-illiterate woman in front of the camera, and she can barely read cue cards. I shudder to think of the people they're aiming for.
in that critique of the lawyers. They certainly do their profession no favors with those spots. They come off as blood-sucking ambulance chasers in a big way. The people that they have represented all look like they live in a run-down trailor park too.
The sad part is that despite all the suffering the clients went through for their settlements...the Bernstein family did not suffer a bit and got upwards of 40% of the settlements plus expenses.
THATS the real crime...
I'm not going to go into that discussion here. I'm just saying they didn't need to put the biggest piece of livestock they could find in front of the camera, and follow it up with someone who reads slightly worse than a 4-year old preschooler. That's like asking Stevie Wonder to park your Ferrari.
I'm starting to wonder if anyone looks at any of these commercials before they go over the air.
Tigers haven't hit a home run since Avila went yard last Friday in KC
You know, I was just wondering about that myself. We're well overdue.
Cleveland is going to get someone tossed.
Here comes Benoit. We better score about 3 or 20 runs.
Well glad to see that Benoit come out. That was impressive!
has had a freakin TON of last at-bat wins this year.
I hope Papa-Grande has his good stuff tonight!
Don't worry. He did. :D
17 wins for JV
Was anybody at the game? I hail from Cleveland these days, so I made it out to the finale. I was sitting in the left-field bleachers, shaded a little more toward center. Perfect night for a game! It was nice to see Verlander pick up his 100th career win.
On a side note, remember the thread a few weeks back about how some people's faith in humanity was restored because one kid gave a smaller kid a ball (I think it was at a D-Backs game)? Well, what faith was restored was negated last night. At one point in the game, some of the Indians employees were throwing out t-shirts and stuff like that, and one came up in my general area. It was a row in front of me and a little to my left, so I didn't have a chance at it, but an 18-19 year old kid literally wrestled the t-shirt out of the hands of a kid who couldn't have been more than 6. The little kid had the most devastated look on his face, and the older kid holds out his hand to the little kid for a high-five! I couldn't believe it. So the older kid then tries on the shirt, realizes it's too small for him, then gives it to the younger kid. Just a douche move all around.
