OT - Tigers v. White Sox 6-9-10

Submitted by winterblue75 on

Porcello and Perry are going to be the death of me during my baseball watching this summer. I always have the feeling that they are going to do something horrific while they are on the mound. And tonight was no exception.

They're both going to end up in Toledo at some point in this season. I'm glad I went and played golf tonight rather than watch this fiasco.

a wince, a profanity in sotto voce.

jim leyland's gone to the bullpen. 6/9 balloons his starter's e.r.a. to 6.09. how old is strasburg, again? ...dammit.

i'm watching the hockey game.

Porcello was fine thru 3, then the Sox pounded everything.

Boesch continues to shine, one homer and one near miss. I like Leyland hitting Guillen behind Boesch.

Why is  Raburn batting 3rd?

Cabrera goes yard and here comes Boesch

Raburn is in place of Magglio, who has an abdominal strain. Now, as for the reason that he's hitting 3rd, I've got nothing. Gerald Laird has a better answer about how to hit .300 than I do for your question.

They've really got to consider taking Porcello from the rotation.  Maybe send him down like they did with Scherzer to get him straightened out.  It seems like his pitches have no movement.  As for who to replace him with in the rotation, I'd vote for Bonine.  He's been very impressive in relief this year and I thought he did pretty well as a fill-in starter last year.

.....I pray to God that Jacob Turner is one step closer to the big leagues.

SN: I'm equally irritated with the "automatic 3 outs" at the bottom of our lineup. Seriously...

You've got to assume that the automatic 3 outs at the bottom of the lineup are bound to improve with the removal of Everett and the relegation of Gump Laird to the bench. Now it's just a matter of whether Avila can regain his stroke, and if Worth can produce. Brandon Inge is what he is, and there's no replacement in sight for him.

15-3 in the 9th and everyone Tiger pitcher who has even looked at a baseball has gotten drilled. Porcello, Bonine, Ni, doesn't matter.  I'm so glad I didn't even turn this one on after I got off the golf course.

but in looking at our draft picks, it seems like position players are GLARINGLY missing, but there are like 7 catchers in there. WTH?? Are position switches THAT prominent?? I think we need bats at SS & 3rd IN THE WORST WAY, imho...
