OT - Tigers v. Angels 7/17/12
After a big win to pull within 2.5 games of the White Sox and pass Cleveland, the Tigers look to go up 2-0 in the series against the Angels.
Jacob Turner promptly lets the first 4 batters score with the help of a Trumbo bomb. Let's see if the bats can continue their magic.
Crosby is a lefty who can reach 95 mph, yes he does indeed have some value. Lefties with that kind of velocity can be lethal.
This thread title has an acute spelling error. I think you're obtuse, OP--am I right?
Your terrible puns elicted my gag reflex.
but I'm glad you were being complementary.
But Turner just doesn't look right.
He really needs to re-evaluate his compass and find a straightedge to follow through the rest of this inning.

Your comment on angles is not very complementary.
It's obtuse.
Come on, Cleveland! Giving up 3 runs in the 1st inning is no way to beat Tampa Bay!
IMO the Tigers need to play all of the Angles. From possible trade angles to the angle in the right field corner. Cover them all.
Ouch Jacob Turner 7 ER in 1 inning.
The final line was 2 IP, 6 hits, 7 runs, all earned, 2 walks, 1 strikeout. Props to Below for keeping it 7-0 right now. If the Angles can recreate some of their bullpen brain freezes from last night, we could maybe creep back into it - a little bit of life here in the 5th anyway...
I didn't know Trout had that kind of power....that guy is only 20 which is just scary.
I declare this game lost; throw in some random reserves to see what they can do. Give Turner a bat, maybe he can hit a floater.
If it's gonna be a showcase, make it a true showcase. Let him play some shortstop. Have him catch a couple of innings. Hell, have him coach third base.
Just tell teams, "If you didn't like the pitching, we can make him Steve Lyons or Jose Oquendo and he can play everywhere...think of it as getting an entire team in one player."
Is that Mattison sitting front row and to the right of the batter? When the cameras show the batter step back from the plate, you can get a good look.
I thought that during last night's win and still made this thread (though it was already 4-0 by the time I posted it).
People like to complain. During and after losses, people want to dissect the team and explain how they would "fix" and what needs to be done and blah blah blah. I'm willing to bet there's quite a few more comments on MGoBoard after football losses than wins as well. Just how it goes. Tigers board I post on is the same way. Thread on last night's game was one page. The one tonight is two pages and will easily be three by the end of the night. Small contingent of fans post on it, thus the small numbers.
I had to watch the game standing up after 6th... my ass hurt all the way from Lansing. Ugh
He's still only 20, he has plenty of time to develop into a solid #2 that he is projected into being
