Oh let's do it.
Mike Lantry, 1972
Hopefully Verlander has a great outing Because he is going to need it
just always have our numbers. Still very early and close though. Let's get those bats going for JV!
A rather nonchalant breaking pitch finds its way to the seats. We are tied 1-1.
JV struggling again tonight, obviously the Rangers are a good offensive club but JV is getting BABIP'd to go along with his little fastball control. So much for a pitchers duel thus far.
This is a little disappointing. Neither pitcher has great stuff tonight, but Verlander seems to have little control.
Verlander circa 2008 is on the mound in Arlington tonight, trying to blow everyone away with the fastball, and cant hit the strikezone.
I noticed not only was his velocity up but he didn't appear to be breathing enough between getting the sign, coming set, and beginning his pitch. I would be interested to know what his thoughts were between pitches compared to other outings. This game his body language on the mound seemed more like a linebacker blitzing a hole instead of a sniper taking kill shots.
/geeks out on pitching
Well at least we know we gave him enough $ to eat Taco Bell for life, yikes.
Rough inning for JV.
I cannot watch anymore. It is painful.
Maybe give me a few innings.
When has JV given up 7 ERs in one inning? His control was so poor it was worse than Porcello's! Argh! Now tiger's hitters please do something!
I try not to worry about individual games too much during the first few months of the season anymore. They will drive you crazy. The Tigers will overcome a "tough" Indians squad by the middle of September.
They'll do it far before then.
Tigers will win this division by 8-12 games, it won't even be an interesting division to follow.
I like in the DFW area. I'm going to hear about this at work tomorrow. Living in this area has really allowed me to develop a hatred for the Rangers and their fans. Bunch of bandwagoners.
outings in a row from Verlander, have to wonder if something isn't right.
I think Verlander either has a sore shoulder or his mechanics are screwed up. It looked to me as if Verlanders motion was different, like he was shot putting, or lunging, or doing something out of his ordinary delivery.
