Oh wow, kudos to you guys who are still holding out hope.  May the world never crush your optimism.

The obliques have the Tigers looking bleak.

Winning this series is almost out of the question but not quite. I would still give the Tigers about a 20% chance if not for the injuries to Young and Martinez. The Tigers either need to score some runs today (not likely) or Verlander is going to have to go the distance and shut them out the rest of the way (somewhat likely).

I don't think I've ever seen two of a teams best hitters hit home runs on consecutive nights and come up bittersweet cause they pull oblique muscles on the swing. What are the odds? I think the Tigers would have won last night with a healthy  Young and Martinez.

Wilson looking dominant so far but the  Tigers should be able to get to him for at least a couple runs.

AVILA!  I'm happy for Alex.  He is pretty damn beat up and hasn't had a good postseason so far.  It's too bad that VMart was injured for much of the 2nd half of the season and we couldn't give Avila much rest.  He's been a warrior out there.

To everyone that was/is whining about JV not pitching game 4 so he could pitch game 7*.  Honestly, JV isn't even our second best pitcher in the postseason so far.  Scherzer and Fister have been better imo.

*if we are lucky enough to make it that far.

Verlander is not the reason the Tigers are struggling. They can't hit the ball outside of solo homeruns.

They only have two singles and both of those came from Santiago. The rest of the team has not done squat.

Austin Jackson has looked like a deer in the headlights while batting.

I hope you are right concerning Verlander being our third best pitcher as Scherzer will pitch game six and Fister will pitch game seven.

McCarver is clueless

Point one. as McCarver was ''analyzing'' what Jackson's options were when he dropped the ball, Buck finally just said '' how about just catching the ball''

Point two. McCarver still seems unaware of Cabrera's ball hitting the bag and taking the bad hop over Beltre's glove. McCarver going on and on about what a tough fair foul call it was for the third base ump.

Flashback to 1987. JV is pitching like a latter day right handed Top Banana Frank Tanana. Killing them softly with off speed stuff.

Man JV had fire in his eyes walking of the mound in the 7th. He is pitching the 8th.

7 1/3 the day Leyland says that he won't pitch their setup man or closer. I think that was our managers way of challenging Verlander. He met the challenge.
