The Torch and Pitchfork Club are sure to be after that fan. They need to put the backward facing spike strips ala a parking garage or lot, so the players are safe, but any fan attempting to lean over into the field of play would be impaled. What was that guy, 30 years old? How cool are you for having a ball hit by a random Rays player?

Dumbass fans, the team didn't call you up to play from Toledo to play today so don't touch a ball in play. This has to be Matt Moore's last inning or at least that's what I'm praying for.

I know it is early, but Jackson looks like a different player this year. He is taking his time and swinging on the pitches he wants. I am hoping he keeps up the good habits and has a special year.

I'm in the same boat as you. I don't want to jump the gun, but man, he's looking good. That at-bat where he hit the home run, he was down in the count 1-2, but he battled, showed patience, worked the count full, and hit it out on the 8th pitch. I know he's shown glimpses of that kind of ability in the past, but it's exciting to see it this early. Keep it up, Ajax!

Rod and Mario had just talked about how Moore hadn't shook off Molina all game long. After the pitching change they showed that Moore indeed did shake off Molina on the pitch that Jackson took deep. Ought to have listened to the vet, young rookie.

I think he is, for sure. He struggled today, yet limited the Tigers' offense to only 2 runs. Now, today's probably not the best day to use as an example, because of the cold weather, but I think he's totally legit. Unless he gets injured, I think he's a shoo-in for the AL ROY, and I think he's got Cy Young potential down the road.

Does anyone else think that Danny Worth looks like a young Chuck Knoblauch? The fact that they both play the same position is awesome too. Hopefully Worth does not develop the shanks like the ole Knobber did.

I think this is how JL dreamed the season would start.  Minus the Fister injury.  Cabby and Prince doing work in the late innings and Austin on base all day long.

and staying out of that DP leads to another run on the sacrifice fly by Peralta!  Good fundamentals+good managerial decision pays off!

and as I'm typing the above, a bloop single plates yet another to make it 5-2

Listening to Mike and Mike this morning.  Greenberg had a guest co-host on (Buster Olney) who said he favored Rays pitching against Tiger hitting today.   It seems like Tiger hitting has the upper hand.

Time for Papa Grande to redeem himself. Let's go!

The Rays have their 7-8-9 hitters coming up. Don't make it any harder than it needs to be, Potato.
