OT- Tigers Open Thread

Fister's dealing.  Filthy movement on every pitch.  Strikes out the side in the 1st.

Edit: The game is nationally televised on ESPN.

Five strikeouts for the Braves this evening, bringing their total for this series to 32 K's. All weekend, we have had some pretty solid pitching against the team with the best record in the NL to date. Then again, the Braves lead the NL in strikeouts too. It's like a whole team of Dave Kingmans and Reggie Jacksons from that standpoint.

Fister is trying to Larry Bird Sanchez's record.

In 1985 Kevin McHale set the Celtics single game scoring record only to see Larry Bird surpass it 9 nights later.

Can anyone find the record for K's in a 3 game series? My guess is in the high 40's. So far the tigers are at 35. Either way, 2003 Cubs are going dooowwwnnn

Listening to most is Fister is doing his job besides the hit batter. Dude is getting ground balls and the infield seems to be out of place IMO, and a error here and there and that's what happens, everyone remembers the hit batter lol

Big Miggy with a bomb.

This could be a huge sweep of a very good Braves team. Good to see after hitting a bit of a rough patch last week.

And - gasp - it might even be time to consider Valverde for the old fantasy roster.

I'm on ESPN but his Add/Drop percentage is at +75.7% this week so he's at 87% total, if you're going to risk it (which really why wouldn't you? He's a relief pitcher so his ERA won't destroy you considering your Innings Pitched) you should probably do it sooner rather than later.

Potential World Series matchup. At least that's what their saying in the Nashville area. I sure hope so if it goes like this.

Plus I went to high school with Mike Minor of the Bravos.

Nice when the few and far between look like that.  It had a little of everything:

  • Dominant starting pitching from Fister.
  • A game opponent (and my other favorite team) making a game of it early.
  • Clutch AJax
  • Clutch Miggy
  • Even a little Papa Grande to top it off.

Can't wait to move back to Michigan in June and catch the rest of this season on the regular!
