Garcia take a pitch!!
I thought that myself when I read that article that talked about a Data Scientist(tm)
Garcia take a pitch!!
Typical Tigers at bat
Take strike 1, foul off strike 2, strikeout or ground out
Terrible, terrible AB's, this is getting outright ugly.
that I am offended by the gall of the Oakland players to show any emotion at all in this game. Save it for the dugout.
Hey, at least they're making their AB's quick so you don't have to stay up that late. Credit where credit is due.
Oh hey, the human white flag, Phil Coke.
Yeah you point at those fly balls.
What do you think the conversation is like in the dugout after he points to a hit that carries over the wall?
My guess is nothing. But there is a quiet inside joke.
While it doesn't help the fielders behind him make a play on the ball, it generally does let the viewer at home know that it's an out. So there's that. Why is Avila not playing? Is he hurt? Does Laird always catch Sanchez?
Leyland has had lineups for lefty and righty pitchers down the stretch, against a lefty you're going to get Garcia/Laird and against a righty he goes with Berry/Avila, expect Alex to get a pinch hit opportunity if the chance arises.
Phil coke might be a bad pitcher but he's at least he is easy on the eyes.
Well this certainly is the part of the lineup you'd like to have at the plate in the 9th. Let's pray for some magic and a Tigers win.
Could use a blast right about now Prince.
Come on Prince. Let's get a break right now for earlier tonight.
F. Hit AJ Griffin tomorrow and leave Oakland ASAP.
Get them tomorrow night. Damn tomorrow will be later.
come on Max. We need ya in game 4....
but oh wait, it appears it may not matter if our SP throws a gem because our offense CAN'T GET ANY 'GD' RANS.
Tigers need to set the tone early tomorrow. No 6-pitch first inning mess like tonight. Score runs in the 1st to shut that crowd up.
My wife and I were at the game tonight. Not sure how the game came across on TV, but in the ballpark, it really felt like the whole thing turned on two A's defensive plays: Crisp's HR-stealing catch off Fielder, and then Cespedes' taking away a sure double from Fielder a few innings later. That's at least one run and maybe two, and they were easily the best-hit balls of the night for our boys.
It sucked. I won't go to game 4 or 5 to try to improve our chances.
a big deal of Cespedes' catch, but it looked fairly routine to me. At least for a major league left fielder. Our guys need to put together alot more quality at bats tomorrow.
The vast majority of left fielders in the game drop that ball 8 out of 10 times.
