Please don't tell me there is going to be an open thread for all 162 games because that would be incredibly lame. Baseball is clearly the worst thing in existence right now.

Typical douchey comment from Darth, I highly doubt there will be a thread for every game but after this weekend and the spring game I don't see anything wrong with game threads during OT season. If you don't like them then don't bother clicking on them.

Well, in years past there's been a thread for damn near every game. And why not? All we got once the Spring game is done is softball threads and threads about the pure joy of summer in Ann Arbor: Dominicks.  All good things, but a slow time of the season to be sure.

Maybe I didn't notice last year but I don't recall seeing a thread for every game, I'd probably end up commenting on all of them if there was lol.

I agree with you though, seriously after the spring game there is nothing, so Tigers open threads are a nice way to visit the blog in what is otherwise a quiet time.

Bummer, the douche post was deleted.  Wanted to get in some neg action.

Anyway, Tigers swung themselves out of a lead-off single in the first inning. Sanchez now trying to work around a first inning baserunner.

Kevin Correia pitches the Tigers tough apparently, they haven't scored more than 3 runs against him in their past 3 games. Need to get better swings and try to work the count a bit.

Yeah, that whole organization is a head scratcher. How you go from "hey, let's build a really nice, really expensive stadium, then sign a bunch of high-profile free agents to fill it," to "TRADE ALL THE PLAYERS!!!!" in one year is beyond me. I'd be pissed if I was a Marlins fan/lived in Miami.

Would you take the over or the under for 35 wins for them this year?

Is Phil Coke getting the closer opp's?

I am no longer living in MI and am in a FBB league and damn it if I have no idea who is closing for the Tigers.

Well, look at Monday's game. They are going to go by matchups. Benoit pitched 4 outs starting in the 8th and Coke took the last 2. I imagine that Coke will close more often than others, but if they see a matchup that they like, I don't think they'll hesitate to pull him for another closer.

The best thing about the phone ap is that caved comments live on and dont go away.  So once I noticed that Darth Wolverine was being his typical a-hole self I immediately went to my phone so I could see what he said.

To be fair however his comments weren't THAT bad - he was simply whining about the possibility of an open thread for each Tigers game.   Not quite sure exactly why that warranted getting caved to be honest instead of just letting people downvote him but there you have it.

FYI not sure if someone posted in here already (tried to look but that takes too long), but the Tigers are the free MLB.tv game of the day. Therefore, you don't need a subscription to stream. The catch is you have to be outside of the Detroit TV market.

MLB At Bat app works really well on the iPhone, but I don't know if you still get the free game of the day like you do from a desktop. I have a subscription so I can't tell, but I am currently watching the game at work on the desktop and noticed it was the free game today.

And that 1-2-3 inning against the big wood of the Twins order shows why.

I still don't understand why the Tigers were supposedly thinking of sending him to Toledo at the end of spring training.

to the bottom of the 9th:

Tigers still lead 2-1, Coke just came in after Benoit walked the Twins' leadoff man in the 9th.  Got the first man he faced to hit a harmless fly for out #1, still a man on 1st.  Now a 1-2 count on Dozier...
