OT: Tigers 6/21

Can't lose to the Dodgers again, hopefully Scherzer gets it done without Miguel in the lineup tonight.

be dumb enough to let that happen to him.  But I don't think we have to worry about it happening again anytime soon cuz Raburn is barely over the Mendoza line right now.  I don't understand why Leyland insists on playing him, Raburn must have pictures or something.

I was so furious when this happened.

When Raburn is on third, where should his eyes be?  The pitcher?  The catcher?  My reason for asking is the catcher made a pretty obvious signal to the third baseman the pickoff was coming.  Should Raburn have picked this up?

Also over both of those guys, and have been for awhile.  Cannot compete for a division with a 3B and RF that hit around .200.  And while we're at it...some comsistency at 2B would be nice.  Run Santiago out there every day for a month and see what happens...

I would really like to see Leyland get fired up enough to get tossed in one of these games. I realize the Tigers been on the good end of some botched calls, but in the last 5-6 games they've been on the wrong end of about 1 per game.  Not that they've cost them the game or anything, but when the team is a little down it could light a fire.

is the announcer pissing anyone else off calling scherzer "shirtser" and avila "ah-vee-lah"?

im tempted to drive the 3 hours to LA and punch the guy in the head.

the a-vee-la thing bugs me too. i heard the tigers TV announcer doing that when i was back home a few weeks ago and i said out loud 'that's not how you pronounce that name.' then last night i was listening to the LA radio announcer and he announced it that way, and then corrected himself, sort of. but i wondered through it all if the family took to pronouncing it that way because it had become anglicized. happens sometimes. but if it's not the case, it's weird because he has family members with the dodgers and you would think that folks around there would get the name right.

I was at the game tonight too. Tough to watc, but I was wearing a maize M shirt and got lots of Go Blue's (and gave many more) so that was nice.

I'm just hoping that our crappy play lately is due to the fact that we haven't had a day off in almost 3 weeks. We've made the Rockies and the Dodgers look good in the past week. It's embarassing, really. Hopefully we'll be well represented at the All Star Game, though!
