Gawd is it painful to listen to Hawk
well that's just, like, your opinion, man
Gawd is it painful to listen to Hawk
The non stop backhanded insults about the opposing team. Its atrocious. Im watching it on mute with the 97.1 radio broadcast.
AJ Pierzynski is being a fucking asshole again. What a fucking prick.
I'vehated Pierzynski for as long as I can remember. the guy is pure trash.
So Chicago officials fucked up the batters box, Miggy called em on it, and the Chicago crowd is upset and Cabrera. Standard Chicago sports logic.
Max, give the team a good outing.
Hah oh the sox trying to pull a fast one, atta boy Miggy.
Cheating in baseball? Never seen this one before. Now let's blow up some records. Only way to stop the Tigers is by cheating evidently.
Am I the only one who wants to punch Jake Peavy in the mouth?
Nope you are not alone, he just has that d-bag frat guy look about him, that said he's probably a nice guy. Now AJ on the other hand...
Yeah I'm sure I'm not the only one who wants to see AJ take a foul ball to the neck. Geez what's up with all these violent images in my head?
After clicking your sig link.. you ok, dude?
Cool off. Have a beer.
For those of us unable to watch/listen, what did AJ do now? and whats up with this batters box? Sounds terrible. Absolutely hate the sox, they probably slide in right behind ohio for me.
I didn't hear anything about AJ as I was on the phone, but the batter's box was about 8 inches or so too far toward the pitcher's rubber. I am listening on MLB At Bat 12 on my phone at work so I am unable to see if it was really that far off.
The way I saw it Miggy stepped into the box and his foot was about 6 inches behind the box and AJ looked up at the ump and pointed it out. Miggy told the ump the box was off and sure enough it was. Had AJ said nothing (like he does everytime he plays against PRONK who always has his back foot about 6 inches behind the box after he kicks out the back line chalk) it wouldn't have been a big deal. Instead they had to bring out the grounds crew and re-do the box delaying the game about 10 minutes. I just hate AJ and look for more reasons to hate him.
This is not how it happened at all. The box angle was off - the box was closer to the mound by about 10 inches - and Miggy wanted it changed, and AJ told the ump that Miggy was correct. It was a disadvantage for the hitter. What AJ did was fine.
Not how I saw it. Like I said, I hate AJ and whatever he does is bad and whatever he doesn't do is also bad.
I couldn't tell exactly what was happening on TV either, but when I turned on the radio Dan and Jim said the box was too close to the mound, and that Miggy pointed it out to the ump.
I could be wrong about how it went down.
When AJ played for Twins Michigan played a Friday night game vs. Gophers. The John Navarre game I believe. AJ and a bunch of Twins came to watch and meet Lloyd. AJ is M football fan I guess. Even some M fans can be assholes.
d-bag AJ is a florida fan.
God the Tigers D on the left side is awful. You got Delmon chop blocking a ball in Left, immediately followed by Cabby charging a slow roller while doing his best impression of a tortoise.
Cabrera. Not sure he gets him at first anyways. Besides the one error on opening day Cabby has actually been very solid at third. The Tigers defense as a whole hasn't been too bad this season. C
Cabby has been okay, but the longer he plays third the more his deficiencies will be exposed. I haven't seen anything this slow playing Third for the Tigers since they tried to slide 40 year old Darrell Evans over to Third a few times back in the day.
Why isn't anybody talking about Inge rejoining the team and Danny Worth going back down?
It's always a heated discussion, funny too.
If Brandon replaces Danny Tigers' infield would be worthless.
Inge is probably replacing Danny. Inge is rejoining the team today, and I don't see them sending either Dirks or Kelly down (I'm not sure if either of them have any options left anyway). I'm fine with it, actually. Inge is solid defensively and hits about as well as Danny. One way or another it's basically the same player. No biggie.
but it looks like the good Dr. Scherzer showed up today, rather than the evil Mr. Scherzer that was so scary to watch Sunday when I went to that game vs. the Bosox
If Brandon replaces Danny Tigers' infield would be Worthless.
Way to post the exact same thing 18 minutes later.
Way to have a sense of humor.
Watching the White Sox bitch about everything reminds me of watching Draymond and Izzo. Painful.
it's a game again. 2-run shot golfed just inside the left field fair pole
It'snow ChiSux 3, Tigers 2
That would've been a GREAT place to get a hit.
Wasn't for lack of trying. I thought Dirks did a pretty good job, actually, but game of inches etc. etc.
Watching on free Extra Innings preview. The call on that HR was, approximately:
"That's headed out to left --"
"And... it didn't."
(You can put that on your board, you ridiculous homers.)
Homers? They are Chicago announcers.
When will managers quit bringing in lefties to face Boesch.
Higher avg vs them, less power, but then you also have a lefty facing Miggy
Thornton is the best reliever in the Sox pen (has been for years, really, other than a blip early last season) and he doesn't have a big platoon split over his career either.
Calling that one a triple....man, that's some home cooking from the scorer right there. They oughta call it three errors on one play.
and the reason Dirks was the DH and Delmon in LF was???
Young is a disaster in the field how in the hell does he have guys like dirks DH instead of him.
Schlereth continues to scare, disappoint, and generally piss me off.
Nice. The golden sombrero for Dunn. A smattering of boos from the ever-classy Chicago fans.
Not sure if this is the right time to play the classy card, considering this thread alone has two posters in agreement about their interest in punching Jake Peavy in the mouth, another hoping Pierzynski takes a foul ball to the neck, and the ever-classy "ChiSux" moniker. How is this any better/more acceptable than those posters who wish injuries upon opposing players and refer to Ohio as O$U, the Suckeyes, etc. Those posts get negged to death regularly, why should this be different? Just saying....
are professional assholes!
You are right on all counts. However, we are talking about the same city, and much of the same fans, who go to Blackhawks games and chant "Detroit sucks" - when the opponent is, like, San Jose. I reserve the right to be not entirely rational in my dislike of Chicago fans.
To be honest I find that Bulls fans are very nice compared to the fans that typically populate the Cell, and Soldier field. Although I am in total agreement with your disdain for Chicago fans in general.
Dunn is terrible. Also I hate strikeouts more than anything in the world. You're a professional baseball player you should not be striking out 4 times a game. Yes, I understand terrible games happen, but Dunn amongst others strikes out 3 times a game regularly. Swing for the fences on your first two swings then shorten up and put the ball in play or understand the games situation and sing accordingly. Back in the day Dimaggio and Williams would have 10 more homers in a season than they would have strikeouts. End rant.
I think it is reasonable to say defense was the difference in this game
True, but good defensive plays by the Sox is a big part of why the Tigers only scored 2 runs, plays that the Tiger's counterpart are unlikely to make. In fact the Tiger's bad defense directly resulted in extra runs for the Sox. Tigers have a good, fun, exciting team, but defense is going to be a weakness in its current configuration
with a good D, chi scores but one run in the first 8 inn.
I think I agree with that comment for today at least. Boesch misplays the ball on the AJ double thus allowing Konerko of all people to score from first, then Delmon (who gets the only useful knock for us today) totally butchers a fly ball in left doing his best Nancy Kerrigan impression allowing that inning to be more devastating than it should have been.
All in all you have to give the sox credit they had good pitching, timely hitting, and solid defense they got a well deserved win today.
I hate the white sox.
Delmon Young looked like me leaving Dooleys after dime beer night. Top Not Top Ten nominee.
hate Hawk Harelson?? Put it on the board... He gone.. Ducks on the pond... can of corn
Harrelson is very obnoxious with all of his contrived gimmicky chatter.
Hey dickhead. AJ went to M game at Metrodome and went in locker room and met with Lloyd Carr. Not just went to game. Seemed he must like M football. So I am a d-bag. Whatever smart guy.
i guess you are a d-bag because you can't read. try re-reading my post. i referred to AJ as being a d-bag. and he is. and yes, i have seen AJ numerous times on espn touting his florida fandome, especially when fla was making their title runs in football and basketball a few years ago.
a quick google search yielded the following from N Friedell's blog discussing AJ:
"He has a Percy Harvin jersey in his locker, and a football helmet signed by Florida coach Urban Meyer and Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Tim Tebow. He's a season-ticket holder who makes it a point to drive to every home game in Gainesville and some of the away games when he's not playing."
I read your other comment the way you meant it, calling aj a d-bag, but then i went back to re-read it to see why this guy thought you were calling him a d-bag. It could be read as: "no d-bag, aj is a florida fan", lol. Makes more sense your way since the "no" was in the title bar by itself and then it said, "d-bag aj" in the body
