OT: Thursday Night James Open Thread

Tonight we've got Miami at Pitt and, uh, South Lake at Apopka.  Yes, that is high school.

Miami at Pitt looks to be an interesting game for a variety of reasons, but I'm personally wondering if Jacory Harris goes back to his play from last year.  He looked awful last week, though Pitt hasn't looked exactly stellar either.

Miami up 7-0.  And Pitt looks...bad.  But hey, maybe Dion Lewis will save them!

Or, more reaslistically, the Pitt students will remember they don't care about football and begin drinking in preparation for Sunday.

Pittsburgh is really not that good.  Jonathan Baldwin is really good, as is Dion Lewis (although he's overrated, IMO).  I don't expect them to be close in this game.

Sean Spence is a great linebacker. It's just amazing how a linebacker with great instincts and a knack for the ball can completely change a defense.

*insert sad whine relating Sean Spence to the Michigan linebackers* :' (

I cant believe Randy Shannon burned Sentreal Henderson's redshirt that way. Totally unacceptable

Also, I've already shook my head a few times at the Wanny's playcalling, but i dont know if they were true coaching gaffes. The O/U on combined gaffes between Wanny and Shannon was 5.5. We might still be at zero. Maybe multiple bad play calls equals a gaffe?

What ever happened to that Stud QB that the Stache brought in a few years ago?? I think it was Devlin?? Did he transfer and if so how did he not beat out Bill Stull a few years ago??

Why do people (in particular commentators) think Jacory Harris is going to be such a great QB? I feel like they are always speaking so highly of him. I don't see it. I mean he's decent but I don't see star quality. Agree/Disagree/Don't give 2 shits?

Folks, help me out. Give your takes on as many of these games as you want to.

Bama -7 at Arky

Stanford -4.5 at ND

Nevada -4 at BYU

Temple +14 at Penn State

UNC -2 at Rutgers

Lot of road chalk.....i kinda like UNC. Almost an anti-rutgers picks as well.

Anyway, I'd love to hear some thoughts

Alabama (I think Bama by 10)

Stanford (I like Stanford by a TD)

Nevada (not sure on this one, but damn did Nevada murder Cal)

Temple (not sure on this one, either, but Temple seems pretty good and PSU has been underwhelming)

UNC (man, I really dislike Rutgers)

Bama -7 at Arky - it is going to be close, and I'm not sold yet that Alabama is the best team in the nation.

Stanford -4.5 at ND - Stanford has been running over teams so far, and I don't see ND standing in their way.  It will be single digits, but I like Stanford to cover.

Nevada -4 at BYU - No opinion, but this looks like one of those typical 42-40 games with the last team scoring being the winner.

Temple +14 at Penn State - Both teams are not offensive juggernauts and play low-scoring games.  Maybe PSU gets the cheap cover here, but this will be one of those 17-10 or 21-14 games.  Temple could very well win outright, but with 14 pts that looks like a steal.

UNC -2 at Rutgers - no opinion.  Probably Tarheels b/c the Big East is horrible, but I have not seen Rutgers play so no basis.
