OT: Thursday Night James Open Thread
Tonight we've got Miami at Pitt and, uh, South Lake at Apopka. Yes, that is high school.
Miami at Pitt looks to be an interesting game for a variety of reasons, but I'm personally wondering if Jacory Harris goes back to his play from last year. He looked awful last week, though Pitt hasn't looked exactly stellar either.

I am sure I will be foolish, but I love the U with speed and the heat in the Mid Atlantic tnight

What is that white stuff on the corner of his mouth?
September 23rd, 2010 at 8:00 PM ^
It is caused by rabies.
September 23rd, 2010 at 8:10 PM ^
Rabid canine semen?

If you asked your avatar I bet he'd say "cool hwip"

You're saying it funny. Why are you putting so much emphasis on the H?

You're eating hair!

It's like a slight . . . discoloration. He'd better get that checked out.

balms are unpredictable.....

an ugly human being. The schnozz, the weedwhip haircut, the nasty white shit on his mouth, and the misshapen, sparse 'stache.
That's just for starters.

I'm with you. I'm expecting Miami to win big tonight. Is this opinion based on anything real or substantial? No. But I expect them to win big.

Hendersen wearing 77. I am sure most of you knew that, but 77 in Miami....
September 23rd, 2010 at 7:55 PM ^
Miami up 7-0. And Pitt looks...bad. But hey, maybe Dion Lewis will save them!
Or, more reaslistically, the Pitt students will remember they don't care about football and begin drinking in preparation for Sunday.
September 23rd, 2010 at 7:56 PM ^
When is Pitt going to get there own STADIUM? Cheap Asses!
September 23rd, 2010 at 7:56 PM ^
Pittsburgh is really not that good. Jonathan Baldwin is really good, as is Dion Lewis (although he's overrated, IMO). I don't expect them to be close in this game.
September 23rd, 2010 at 8:03 PM ^
I don't know...
September 23rd, 2010 at 8:04 PM ^
Well, I'm starting to see what you're saying.

OK, I agree.

Good thing Pitt has a good punter.
September 23rd, 2010 at 8:10 PM ^
Sean Spence is a great linebacker. It's just amazing how a linebacker with great instincts and a knack for the ball can completely change a defense.
*insert sad whine relating Sean Spence to the Michigan linebackers* :' (

I cant believe Randy Shannon burned Sentreal Henderson's redshirt that way. Totally unacceptable
Also, I've already shook my head a few times at the Wanny's playcalling, but i dont know if they were true coaching gaffes. The O/U on combined gaffes between Wanny and Shannon was 5.5. We might still be at zero. Maybe multiple bad play calls equals a gaffe?
September 23rd, 2010 at 8:14 PM ^
I thought Miami left the Big East?
/sarcasm
September 23rd, 2010 at 8:15 PM ^
Harris almost gets picked, though it's not like his receivers are helping him much.
September 23rd, 2010 at 8:18 PM ^
I came in late, how many drops so far. I've only seen the last drive by each team and I think I've seen 7.
September 23rd, 2010 at 8:21 PM ^
What ever happened to that Stud QB that the Stache brought in a few years ago?? I think it was Devlin?? Did he transfer and if so how did he not beat out Bill Stull a few years ago??
September 23rd, 2010 at 8:27 PM ^
September 23rd, 2010 at 8:34 PM ^
It actually sounded pretty loud on Miami's first drive...like, there were people there cheering. What happened? Did everyone leave?
September 23rd, 2010 at 8:37 PM ^
Also, Minnesota vs. N. Illinois this week. I've got the Huskies winning by 14.
September 23rd, 2010 at 8:49 PM ^
Pittsburgh's offense is a fricking joke. Did Wannestedt use film from Michigan's 2008 season as inspiration?
September 23rd, 2010 at 8:56 PM ^
Why do people (in particular commentators) think Jacory Harris is going to be such a great QB? I feel like they are always speaking so highly of him. I don't see it. I mean he's decent but I don't see star quality. Agree/Disagree/Don't give 2 shits?
September 23rd, 2010 at 9:08 PM ^
Well, he certainly "looks" athletic. Just not enough grit, I guess.
September 23rd, 2010 at 9:57 PM ^
.... ethnically centered?
September 23rd, 2010 at 9:24 PM ^
Does he have like ten picks already this season?
September 23rd, 2010 at 9:26 PM ^
I feel like all the Kool-Aid Michigan fans who exaggerate how "not good" Pryor is are probably just confused and are describing Harris accurately.
September 23rd, 2010 at 11:34 PM ^
He's got talent, but his decision making is absolutely terrible. I don't see him being great ever. 6 TDs w/ 6 INTs in 3 games isn't very good.
September 23rd, 2010 at 8:57 PM ^
Tino Sunseri is 2/7 for 1 yard
Taking lessons from Charlie Batch
September 23rd, 2010 at 8:57 PM ^
And Jacory throws another pick. Hey guys, maybe Miami isn't that good?
September 23rd, 2010 at 9:00 PM ^
Folks, help me out. Give your takes on as many of these games as you want to.
Bama -7 at Arky
Stanford -4.5 at ND
Nevada -4 at BYU
Temple +14 at Penn State
UNC -2 at Rutgers
Lot of road chalk.....i kinda like UNC. Almost an anti-rutgers picks as well.
Anyway, I'd love to hear some thoughts
September 23rd, 2010 at 9:20 PM ^
Alabama (I think Bama by 10)
Stanford (I like Stanford by a TD)
Nevada (not sure on this one, but damn did Nevada murder Cal)
Temple (not sure on this one, either, but Temple seems pretty good and PSU has been underwhelming)
UNC (man, I really dislike Rutgers)

Temple +14 at Penn State....tough one
UNC -2 at Rutgers

Nevada is going to handle BYU.
September 23rd, 2010 at 9:48 PM ^
Bama -7 at Arky - it is going to be close, and I'm not sold yet that Alabama is the best team in the nation.
Stanford -4.5 at ND - Stanford has been running over teams so far, and I don't see ND standing in their way. It will be single digits, but I like Stanford to cover.
Nevada -4 at BYU - No opinion, but this looks like one of those typical 42-40 games with the last team scoring being the winner.
Temple +14 at Penn State - Both teams are not offensive juggernauts and play low-scoring games. Maybe PSU gets the cheap cover here, but this will be one of those 17-10 or 21-14 games. Temple could very well win outright, but with 14 pts that looks like a steal.
UNC -2 at Rutgers - no opinion. Probably Tarheels b/c the Big East is horrible, but I have not seen Rutgers play so no basis.
