OT: The things that piss you off, and the music you enjoy while being pissed off.

Submitted by Darker Blue on

So as the title says I want to know who in here enjoys having sex with a rhino in here gets pissed off about stupid things? What are the stupid things that piss you off? I hate people.

Seriously, I have about 4 friends, and I have two family members I'm very close with. And I have a wife and two kids. Almost every other person I meet in real life can go have sex with a rhino proceed to get lost in a not so nice way.

Also what music do you enjoy. I am a HUGE Hold Steady fan, and lately I've really gotten into Defiance, Ohio. I know their name sucks but what are you gonna do?

EDIT: The strikethrough feature does not seem to be working. So you'll just have to be confused about rhino sex for the time being.

I like this thread. Frightened Rabbit is amazing. Their new album is excellent.

Song recommendations: Keep Yourself Warm (it's a builder), Modern Leper, Woodpile.

Edit: The band We Were Promised Jetpacks is a lot like Frightened Rabbit, and has pretty much the best name ever, so check them out if you like FR.

Blowing 15 point leads to shitty basketball teams playing in front of about 2,000 bored fans and fucking up a B1G championship and a probable #1 seed in the NCAA tourny pisses me off.  A LOT.

When that happens I enjoy listening to Chopin's Funeral March.  That always cheers me up!

Only in like every league EVER.  (always to some extent existent)  I blame alot of it on the damn USBC for making standard league conditions much easier than they probably should be (oil layout and ball technology).  But I guess it is about FUN for most people and striking is FUN...

People who wander around public spaces with no thought whatsoever as to where they are relative to other people annoys the hell out of me.  When this happens, I listen to Katy Perry.  She really understands my rage, you know?

Im a big guy and when in a busy mall or the like, when someone stops dead in their tracks right in the main walkway thats crowded.... Fuck those people. Pick your head up asshole take a look around here and there. I usually get as a close as possible without rolling them over and just stare blankly until they get out of my way.

You know what else pisses me off? I just started playing Assasin's Creed 3, and I've learned more about the American Revolution than I ever knew before. Y U so bad at HIS TOREY 'MURIKA? I've downloaded about 13 books this past week. I'll be an expert before the year is out.

Doing in this thread.

I will say that now I think "Rhino Sex" might be replacing "Ice Cream Headaches" as my band go to name.

Maybe the former will be my hard rock band, and the latter the acoustic classic rock band the remaining members and that one replacement guy morph into in old age.

Babies that are 1 year old now and still not sleeping through the night without eating.  When I'm not gritting my teeth and using all my strength not to punch a hole in a wall in a sleep-deprived rage, I hum Christmas music and rock her back to sleep.  O Come All Ye Faithful, Silent Night, and the like.  60% of the time, it works every time.

Have Heart is my #1 pissed band. And for being a hardcore band, they're not really all that heavy.

EDIT: Also, everything following the 1:25 mark is why this band is so great.

Yeah man, to be honest hardcore music isn't really my thing anymore. I used to play in a hardcore band and, although fun, the constant fights at shows and the general douchebaggery of people in "the scene" really soured it for me. I only listen to a few  of my favorite bands in the genre (Have Heart, Comeback Kid, Verse) these days.

A couple of things.

1.) Binge drinking as an excuse to do stupid things. Especially when that involves groping people or not understanding that they want you to leave.

2.) People claiming to be "drunk" after drinking 2 or 3 beers and then proceeding to do stupid things because they feel like they have their excuse secure.

3.) People that feel that binge drinking is the only way for them to have any fun or do anything positive in their life.

4.) People that have to dress up a particular way so that they're cool among their friends. Whether this is "emo kids" wearing black and skinny jeans or kids wearing leather jackets, slicked back hair, and dancing to twist music.. or even the whole north face + leggings + ugg boots thing. It's ridiculous and juvenile. Grow up people.

5.) "Hipsters". Guys who think they're so knowledgeable about art and music because they know about some guy named Picasso and love Neutral Milk Hotel. They only associate with people that wear leather jackets, skinny jeans, hate sports, and can dance to twist music.

6.) People that hate football and dismiss it as a "stupid game" involving "big guys hitting each  other". The fact that these people are so firm in their ignorance makes me even more angry.

7.) Special music critics - People who trash bands like Brand New or Thrice and think that "rock 'n roll has died" and that "the Beatles and The Who are the best bands ever because of those three chords they always use man, not to mention those priceless lyrics man" - who actually don't have a musical background, can't read music, have never listened to or appreciated classical music, and who don't care about lyrics.

Yeah I'm a fairly angry person. When I'm angry nowadays I'm tending to listen to Thrice to calm me down (Anything after Vheissu).

EDIT - I was going to embed. But I suck at embedding and what I remembered to do for embedding didn't work.. listen to "The Arsonist" or "Yellow Belly" by Thrice.

It pisses me off when people have no clue what's around them. High school hallways and grocery stores are terrible with this, but it pisses me off most on the ice. Some guys just keep skating right towards you or throw the puck up the boards right at you without looking (which anyone who plays hockey knows you are taught not to do).

That moment when you really want to post something, but you're not sure if it's gold or not. So, you post the comment and try to forget about it and get back to work, but you keep coming back and refreshing to see what people thought of it.

And then you listen to John Legend's "Ordinary People".

Back to work!

I would have to say Brand New is my favorite band.

Others that get me going when I'm pissed, System of a Down, The Punk goes Crunk CD makes me laugh, and 90s Alternative Rock station on the Pandora.

"What are the stupid things that piss you off?"

From a sports perspective, one thing I absolutely cannot stand is when people come with the "Fire X" talk, but yet present no ideas for an alternate hire that would satisfy their requirements for adequate performance (possibly because, in most cases, no such person exists). You might as well say, "I simply don't want the team to have a coach / manager".

From a work standpoint, it would have to be when people fail to make another pot of coffee after taking the last few cups. For some reason, this visibly irks me, mainly because working the newer Bunn-O-Matic is something of an adventure and I would like to avoid it whenever possible. Further, it has three burners, so you feel obligated to make at least two pots, which eats at blogging / working time.

When I am irritated, I somehow manage to find myself listening to Devo (earlier stuff). It has the right blend of humor and "people are stupid" to get my mind off whatever it was that had been bothering me.

I have no problem with those who want someone fired. They're usually making good enough money because of how popular the position is that it comes with the job. But who would you rather they get?  Because if you don't have any idea, you're just spewing mental diarrhea.  And you better have someone the team could actually convince to come here. Otherwise it's the equivalent of the player trade whine - "The Pistons should trade TayShaun Prince for Lebron James....come on, why wouldn't Miami go for it? We'll through in a second round pick too!"

Melkor and Ungoliant stealing my damn Silmarils.  That's what pisses me off.  Some NIN--specifically Pretty Hate Machine and Broken are good angry music.
