OT: Things that are awesome!

almost spit on my monitor.
Even with poop fountains, infantile pink eye, and buying new clothes every two weeks, it's still the best that's happened to me and provides a nice "check yo self fool" ability when I get too upset about sports.
Except for Tate's 5th INT in the OSU game this year... damn remote controls are not flexible.
I am thankful for my beautiful daughter and wife, the health of my family and friends, Michigan athletics, and this sweet a** mother effing blog and all who make it what it is!
1. Medium, spicy garlic, and parmesan garlic wings at BWs;
2. The shows Fringe, Nip Tuck, and Always Sunny in Philly;
3. Classic games on the Big Ten Channel;
4. The new rule in the Big Ten allowing the grabbing of ones jersey to prevent a shot from being made, that should make defense a little easier;
5. Stromboli with any toppings;
6. Dogs that have been trained to speak human words;
7. Buzz Lightyear - for entertaining my 2 year old for hours while I watch games;
8. Saturday Night Football;
9. The fact that winter does end;
10. The come back "That's what she said."
There are more, but I have to get back to work (or begin work, that is).
I am thankful that Tim, on occasion, is mean to the posters. Especially when it's warranted.
Why do I only see a blank picture with Manny standing to the side?
I just got MOD PWNED.
TLP I usually like your stuff but hey remember some of us are at work here. Let's not put any fellow Blue fans in the Dog House.
Yea, I'm at home right now, and I forget that sometimes...but seriously? Couldn't they have at least put up a picture of Manny's boobs...like this....
Then you die.
but if you "sucked" at life then die, there is a slight chance you will end up in pergatory which if I'm not mistaken is where you are "purged" of your sins and I'm not to sure that is a pleasant experience. That is, if it exists because Jesus might have done away with it...in that case you might be going straight to hell and the circle of life takes you back to suck. Awesome? You decide.
I like cats. Mostly, I like brown or white cats but black ones are OK also.
cats are delicious.
However, birthdays are merely symbolic of how another year has gone by and how little we've grown. No matter how desperate we are that someday a better self will emerge, with each flicker of the candles on the cake, we know it's not to be; that for the rest of our sad, wretched pathetic lives, this is who we are to the bitter end. Inevitably irrevocably; happy birthday? No such thing.
Hi. You're the best but I'm confused. What does this mean?
=) <3 :$
and specifically what does the cash mouth symbol :$ mean?
So I get accused of e-flirting on MGoBlog pretty much every single day, mostly because I'm a girl on a blog with 99% guys and everything I say can be construed as flirty.
Sooo as a shout out to all of the guys that think I'm an e-flirt, Lupe created my sig line: =) is the smiley I use all the time (see Irish's sig line!); <3 = the heart that I apparently over-use (ask Tim); :$ I didn't even know about, but according to Lupe it's a blushing/flirting face.
Are you sure they're not messing with you? I thought it was a smiling face over a nice rack....and I figured the last symbol was something I was too old to understand, possibly a unique variation on the brazilian.
It's definitely possible.
I thought it represented nausea...
So I get accused of e-flirting on MGoBlog pretty much every single day, mostly because I'm intentionally suggestive in order to get attention.
Oh no you DI'NT
It's that everything you say is with breasts that's construed as flirty. That's how the 99% think.
Let me be the first to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I sure hope your day gets better bub.
EDIT: ok, I'll be the second since MGoJen beat me! Stupid slow Blackberry!
I am thankful that Michigan covered the spread--again--last night. And, that NW covered the +12 against Minny.
I am thankful for Jamiemac. For it's guys like him that make me feel less lonely when I am not in Vegas supporting the local "economy".
“To the fans and everybody in Gator Nation, I’m sorry. I’m extremely sorry. We were hoping for an undefeated season. That was my goal, something Florida has never done here.”
“I promise you one thing, a lot of good will come out of this. You will never see any player in the entire country play as hard as I will playground was where I spent most of my days, Chillin' out maxin' relaxin' all cool
And all shootin some b-ball outside of the school
When a couple of guys

I got in one little fight and my mom got scared
She said 'You're movin' with your auntie and uncle in Bel Air'"
THAT is awesome.
1. Jean-Luc Picard
2. Boston Cream Pie
You know what's even more awesome than Jean-Luc Picard? Jean-Luc Picard + Michigan:
Exploding space bears in F-16s bombing Ohio State and Spartan Stadium are about eight thousand different kinds of awesome.
The best part about this video is the fact that Spacebear just murdered 6.7 billion people and yet I feel endless amounts of joy upon having seen it happen.
My Father and best friend (same person, not two people) passed away 2 weeks ago today and I have found no joy in life at all since then.
It made me realize how insignificant many of my interests are, and how little joy they actually bring me. My love for my family and UM football are about the only two things left that I can find any pleasure in at the moment.
Life just looks bleek at this point.
Sorry for your loss.
I'm so very sorry. My dad died when I was 8 and he was pretty much the most awesome person I've ever known. The only thing I have ever been able to find comfort in is honoring his memory in my every day life. I think about him a thousand times a day.
I know it's hard to see now, but you will find things in your life that bring you amazing joy--I promise you--and that's exactly what your dad would want you to do.
Losing a parent is such a hard thing. It's like joining a really shitty club you didn't ever want to be a part of--but the fellow members at least have some inkling of what you are going through. All you can do just now is try to be a little good to yourself.
Your interests aren't insignificant--they are what make you what you are, and made your father what he was, the man you loved so much. Hopefully they'll give you pleasure again someday.
Life gets less bleak at some point, but boy it sure takes time. Sending good thoughts your way.
You will experience better days, and in time, the things that gave you joy will do so again. In the meantime, our thoughts are with you.
I very much appreciate the kind words. This has been, by far, the worst two weeks of my life and there is no end in sight that I can see.
I have had friends who lost loved ones before and said similar things to them, but thought my words did very little for them. Now that I am on the other side, I can say that your words have brought some comfort to me and that says a lot given the situation.
Thanks again to all of you, and sorry to have put a damper on your thread Jen.
Not a damper at all. That's what I love about MGoBlog--we're a community and can all help each other out.
But I don't. Losing a parent is probably the hardest thing after losing a child. And it's bad when you lose a parent early, and can see how that feels, AND see how it's like on your grandparents to outlive their children...the age old curse.
Yes, with much time, it will not sting so....it won't dominate your every waking moment. But it will for a good long while. And thinking about it never really makes you feel any better...so words will sound hollow.
All we can do is think the best for you. And sympathize with your pain. Best Wishes...
I lost my parents about 25 years ago and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of them. There will always be some sadness but that will be overwhelmed by the good memories. Honor him in the way you live your life.
Gosh, I actually shed a bit of an MGoTear for your Dad, who I've never met, but must be a special person if you're bringing him up here. I'm sure if he could tell you, he'd wouldn't want you to grieve for too long, but would want you to find the joy in living again.
Dude I am soooo sorry...I lost my mom in '05, I can sympathize. Hang in there man, it gets better. Just keep moving forward.
1000awesomethings.com is awesome.
The fact that you are capable of growth is pretty awesome. The fact that you will recover from a terrible loss...that you will make new friends and that your father's death will make you a better person (you never recover from it....but you heal) is pretty g-d amazing. That the pain from the death of people you love turns into compassion and grace...that's pretty awesome.
Community...that's pretty awesome. That people band together and share ideas and comfort one another and do stupid sh*t like watch football...that's pretty awesome.
When my girlfriend swallows. Always a plus
Things in your imagination don't have a gag reflex.

The most awesome thing is counting your blessings and realizing how many you have. Here's a partial list from me: My beautiful wife, my amazing daughters, friends, The University of Michigan, Michigan sports, music, imo's pizza, beer, good beer, bourbon, memories of people who made you better, people who make you better every day, really great quotes, wit, laughter, sunshine, the intarwebs, beautiful girls, fingers and toes, bare skin, sleeping, sleeping in, getting up really early, looking at stars, drums, beer, running, spectacular views, huge mountains, the beach, Michigan Stadium, The Victors, more laughter, soreness after a workout, girl(s) who say(s) yes, smiling, mgoblog, mgojen, breakfast, taco bell, giving blood, getting blood, fast cars, good books, letters and emails from old friends, personal letters and emails from anyone,...must stop, but one last thing that is awesome: having more things that are awesome to count. And you. You are awesome.

One thing stands above all as supreme awesome on this planet..... Ben & Jerrys Americone Dream ice cream. Anyone who argues that has no soul or tounge.
Going on a cruise that departs from Charleston SC and hits Key West, Cancun, and Nassau, among other places. I went on a cruise two years ago and the day of departure a big snow storm hit mid-Michigan. We were concerned the flight would be delayed or maybe even cancelled, but they de-iced the plane and took off in the snow storm. It was wild you couldn't see for the snow, the plane was being buffetted by wind...then poof! We clear the clouds and there was nothing but sunshine. That was awesome! Hope that happens again...
My old U of M roommate's son getting to play Score-O at last Friday's U of M / Ferris State hockey game with Jack Johnson and Danny Fardig while wearing these sunglasses (which have blinking LEDs in the frame in case you're wondering) as the student section chanted "AWESOME GLASSES!"....is awesome.
I didn't even know the kid, and thought it was awesome.
After watching the game, sticking around Ann Arbor, with friends drowning my sorrows with suds and wings at the Brown Jug was pretty awesome!
had a baby boy in '09. That was very awesome. Now we are trying for a second, which is awesome as well.
