OT: TCU Fraud Lawsuit
This goes along with the discussions of yesterday regarding a major D1 school about to be blown up. I wonder if it could be TCU. Either way wow. Another alleged rape involving college athletes.

" lowered academic standards to give preferential treatment to highly-touted athletes"
I'M SHOCKED!

Unbelievable. Unprecedented. I think we all need to take a deep breath to process this.

This doesn't sound very Christian at all!

Considering they were on probation in the 80s, I doubt it's TCU.

Is it safe to say it may be a good thing that we didn't go after and hire Patterson. This would have been a huge story for the media to jump on and the second straight Michigan coach beginning a career amidst controversy in Ann Arbor. I know the Freep references are getting old, but they would have had a field day with this one.

Thus the reason Hoke was Brandon's choice. Safe can be better in terms of media relations sometimes.
I'm not defending "the process", nor am I necessarily a huge fan of the Hoke hire (still held out hope RR would stay even after the bowl game). Simply the positives of the type of hire that was made.

I still think Patterson would have been an awesome hire.

How many National Championships do you have in NCAA 2011?

I have more NCs than you have MGoPoints.

I think you would have been too!!! Damn, why wasn't I hired as a consultant to push your candidacy?

Was not interested according to various sources and wanted to stay at TCU.

That doesn't mean he wouldnt have been an awesome hire.

Uhh, he could only be an "awesome hire" if he actually wanted to bring his awesomeness. Now, if this were, say, the USSR during Communism, or China pre-1990's, well, then, we could have just forced him to coach Michigan because it's better for college football, and, thus, the state. But we're not.
