OT: TAMU Student assistant strikes WVU players...twice!
Liberty Bowl currently going on....Student assistant Mike Richarson was caught on tape hitting two WVU players on the sidelines in the first half. As soon as HC Sumlin was told at half time, Richarson was instructed not to return to the field for the second half. Very glad that Durkin didn't inherit that mess.... WTF?! You can't do that.
This is not 'Nam. This is football. There are rules.

The second shot was a left hook while holding a clipboard. I hope he hurt his hand.

What a toolbag. He should never be allowed on any sideline again.

Sumlin didn't let him reappear in the second half after being informed of what happened. I am pretty sure nobody is going to hire him to be a grad assistant again. Guessing he just blew a chance at a master's degree.

No way will anyone let that schmuck near a sideline again. What an idiot.

and the player's head got in the way.
Nothing wrong with congratulating the opposing team.
/s (that was pretty bad).

And both are cheap shots. I am flabbergasted that it took a half of football for someone to catch it.

A&M really taking their SEC membership to heart. That used to be a school that played with class and had respectful fans. Now in the SEC with Sumlin? They allow their QB to behave like a spoiled brat without any consequences. Look where that got him in the NFL.

So a stupid former player's actions makes their fans disrespectful???
A&M and Michigan may not have a ton in common, but they both have classy/respectful fanbases

No way to defend these actions. How can you do something so stupid twice?

Well, I am glad that guy decided he never wanted to coach at all anywhere, because that's probably what is going to happen. If that's your idea of professionalism, then no team anywhere - including your own - really has any use for you. Cheap shot and glad he was caught and told not to return to the field.

Because "I was on drugs" is the only answer.

Is the guy drunk or something? I mean, what could he possibly be thinking?

Tangential to the incident itself is the awesome power of the internet and Twitter. (Deserved) Outrage was able to get all the way to the head coach who basically fired the dude at halftime.

The Aggie jokes write themselves sometimes.
Richardson was a four-star type that got hurt very early in his career and ended up on a medical scholarship. His pursuit of a career in coaching was something of a feel-good story. Amazing how quickly something like that can get thrown away.

Exactly what I was thinking.
How could he be so stupid as to think that it wouldn't be caught on camera?

This is one of the positive things about the Internet in 2014. This guy has no place in collegiate sports and everyone now knows it.
