OT: Talking Cars Tuesday (the end)
Well, next Tuesday is the middle of game week, so this is the final TCT for the year.
I've been racking my brain trying to come up with a good thread topic, but I don't have much besides the Dave Brandon hate and the Rutgers embarrasement, and of course HARBAUGH.
So, simple question, finances don't matter - you get TWO cars forever. One for you/one for the spouse/2 to share. Figure they're always immaculate and someoe else is footing the bill for gas, insurance, repairs, etc. Remember - you don't get to trade these 2 in. If you both end up with Mazda Miatas I hope you're not planning to haul the kids around. Or live in the snow...
What are your 2 cars for the rest of your life?

For Me
For the Wifey
August 25th, 2015 at 3:43 PM ^
You just want the DeLorean because of the kilo of high-grade cocaine originally included with every purchase. That offer is no longer valid!
August 25th, 2015 at 1:18 PM ^
1969 Jaguar XKE and a Range Rover.
August 25th, 2015 at 1:28 PM ^
Best looking car there ever was
August 26th, 2015 at 7:23 AM ^
No 66 Corvette?
August 25th, 2015 at 1:23 PM ^
And we live in MI and have kids so...
Jeep SRT 8 and Viper GTS
August 25th, 2015 at 1:38 PM ^
I'm a Chrysler slappy myself. I use to work a Chrysler dealership, and the local Orthodontist had this exact lineup for his two cars.
August 25th, 2015 at 1:58 PM ^
The wife has always wanted a GC (well, another. She had one in High School/college) but we'll never spring for the SRT. With my caveats though... sure! She can have one.
Although maybe we'll wait for the rumored Hellcat model... (google TrackHawk)

This is a great question. Unlike that Powdered Toast guy who is generally terrible at coming up with these threads.
Even as a guy without a wife currently (I just focus on chicks that are classy enough to let me sleep with them without using a condom), I've got to think long term on this. So, forever?
I'm going to need something completely bonkers that can actually move without gas power. McLaren P1.
Then, for the more practical option - a kid hauler, if you will. I'll go with a Ford Econoline van. The wife can drive that. Can't you tell I'm going to be a great husband??
August 26th, 2015 at 7:25 AM ^
Go with Mercedes Airstream. They are awesome!
August 25th, 2015 at 1:23 PM ^
- Tesla P90D (reserve the right to upgrade battery as they get bigger)
- 50 Cent's 2003 Suburban with stashbox, XBox, laptop, fax machine, phone and bulletproofed. I figure he'd unload it cheap at this point too.
August 25th, 2015 at 1:30 PM ^
The Bugatti Veyron
For the wife...
Porsche Cayenne (mine when I need to play golf).
August 25th, 2015 at 1:25 PM ^
I'll take abaout a 1981 Jeep Cherokee Wagoneer. For myself... maybe a 1969 Jaguar XKE.
August 25th, 2015 at 1:26 PM ^
old Wagoneers. Classic good looks.
August 25th, 2015 at 1:27 PM ^
where we say which games are and are not cupcakes?

August 25th, 2015 at 1:29 PM ^
RR Drophead Coupe and MB G63 AMG 6x6 (for those MI winters)
August 25th, 2015 at 2:00 PM ^
Watched that top gear episode yesterday. When Hammond goes airborne I said "shit" out loud. Cut to him driving, saying "SHIIiiiiiIT"
August 25th, 2015 at 2:43 PM ^
LOL that thing was an absolute monster on those dunes.
August 26th, 2015 at 7:26 AM ^
Great tailgate vehicle!
August 25th, 2015 at 1:29 PM ^
Audi Quattro Sport S1.
Second car is a subaru forester. Year and trim are irrelevant, it is a grocery getter
August 25th, 2015 at 2:07 PM ^
Yup the first one. Mmmm so boxy
August 25th, 2015 at 2:22 PM ^
I have a forester and I have to say, the thing is surprisingly nice and wonderful to drive with fantastic sight lines.
August 25th, 2015 at 2:47 PM ^
Agreed. We have one, with dedicated snow tires it has saved my wife's life more than once. The thing drives better in bad conditions than most cars drive in good conditions.
August 25th, 2015 at 1:30 PM ^
I want the Power Rangers car.
August 25th, 2015 at 1:30 PM ^
easy -
Car from Ferris Buelers Day Off - 1961 Ferrari GT California
And since I will need something to lug the family around perhaps the car that Homer Simpson designed that bankrupted Herbs business

The Homer
August 25th, 2015 at 1:33 PM ^
BMW X6 for the winter/fall/rain
Acura NSX for summer/dry weather
August 25th, 2015 at 2:28 PM ^
I think I like the old one better. Simple, classic lines. This new one looks like someone from Pontiac had a hand in the design.
Solid choices though.

Finances don't matter? 2 cars? My head just exploded.

Spring & Summer: 1986 Porsche 911 Targa, M491 Option (wide body, non-turbo)
Winters: 1978 Toyota Landcruiser Jeep
August 25th, 2015 at 2:08 PM ^
You seriously called an FJ-40 a Jeep? Not even the generic jeep, but the upper case name that refers to the trucks made in Toledo? An FJ-40 like the one you posted a photo of is so much more than a Jeep.
I already have the 1976 Land Cruiser FJ-40
My other choice would be a 1978 Datsun 280Z
August 25th, 2015 at 9:49 PM ^
That vehicle is not fit to be in the same parking lot as a Jeep. A cheap knock-off, nothing more.
August 25th, 2015 at 1:42 PM ^
Daily driver, Jaguar xjr Supercharged V8
secondary, 1967 Jaguar XKE convertible. This was the last year of the glass headlamp covers.
August 25th, 2015 at 1:50 PM ^
For me: 1971 Ford Bronco - fully restored
For the lady: Fully-loaded 2016 Dodge Charger Hellcat
August 25th, 2015 at 4:08 PM ^
:I
Can I drive your wife's car?
August 25th, 2015 at 1:55 PM ^
would need a large SUV seeing as my stepson is 14, 6'4 and about 320. His mom is all of 5'2 and tiny...
2015 loaded Excursion
1969 Chevelle SS 454
August 25th, 2015 at 1:55 PM ^
For me: 959 Sport, not the Komfort. I've got AWD, I've got an off road gear, I've got only a 2.7L engine so it'll be good on gas (chortles). I've got one of 337 and no you can't have it.
For the wife? Something with space, something efficient, etc. How about a Cayenne S-E Hybrid? Either that or a Grand Cherokee SRT-8.
August 25th, 2015 at 1:59 PM ^
Lamborghini Aventador for the kid in me (It shoots fire out of its f*cking tailpipe, how could you not).
BMW 650i, for the family.
August 25th, 2015 at 2:04 PM ^
I'll take a 1969 Camaro SS
And the wife would want a lamborghini SUV, just because...
August 25th, 2015 at 2:06 PM ^
When in Sant'Agata Bolognese...
August 25th, 2015 at 2:06 PM ^
and the Aston Martin James Bond has. If he has already blown it up again, I'll take the backup Batmobile as my second car.
August 25th, 2015 at 2:31 PM ^
I guess if they are "for life", then I need to go with current cars and technology.
So...the new 2016 Ford GT for me. Looks nice and exotic. Had an orignal 60s Ford GT slot car when I was young and thought it was way cool.
Audi Q7 for the wife. Still need something to tow the boat around.
August 25th, 2015 at 2:08 PM ^
I would have a regular cab pickup. Just room for me and my dog. My wife keeps stealing the dogs seat, or that's what I tell her. Maybe a Dodge 2500 with the Cummins. For my wife, the biggest Buick they make. Buick should restart the Park Avenue. Or the RoadMaster, better yet.
August 25th, 2015 at 2:12 PM ^
Just got 800 miles from one tank in my Passat TDI. Pretty cool.
August 25th, 2015 at 2:22 PM ^
The wife would like to have another Expedition. She leased a couple back when she worked for a subsidiary of Ford, and hasn't stopped raving about them since. I must say, it was comfortable for a big guy and could plow through just about anything. Personally, I'm a GM man and would prefer to see her in a Yukon Denali. I think it would outlast the Ford.
For me, I'm a simple man. I'm torn between a Stingray Z06 or a BMW M8. Neither is worth a shit in the snow, but oh well. I'll just take my wife's Expedition and she can chill at the homestead.
August 25th, 2015 at 2:26 PM ^
I'll keep driving my Wrangler until the wheels go square or until I perfect astral travel.
