To be honest, this doesn't make much sense. If anything, what the players are doing exemplifies exactly what the troops fight for - which is our sovereignty and everything it represents (constitutional rights). Freedom of expression is a constitutional right protected under the law, our laws say nothing about being unconditionally patriotic. I think you are confusing our country with a dictatorship.

It's weird to me how not standing for the national anthem has been equated to hating troops. Really it has nothing to do with that at all. This isn't a Vietnam style protest in any sense.

With that said, it's also someone's right to disagree with the players and not support the product they put out. However, some of the justification for the disagreement is definitionally anti-American in and of itself.

Bang biscuit.  Well put sir.  Outrage over people kneeling at the flag and it's song is a bit imature and obviously ignores what these gentlemen are trying to get across.  White people gonna white people, though (me included, yes...except I can actually rationalize what people of color are trying to fucking tell us versus ignoring it as if many of them live/lived in the same world as us on a day-to-day basis).

"A 2009 Harris Poll reported 87 percent of U.S. adults said hearing the anthem usually made them feel proud to be an American".

"A Harris Interactive survey of 2,200 adults has found that nearly two out of three Americans, or 61 percent, do not know all the words to the "The Star-Spangled Banner," the national anthem."

I'm not offended by the kneeling/protests at all. All I was saying is it ticks me off when "military families" are told they aren't allowed to be offended by what they view as a disrespect towards the flag. I know the protests aren't intended to be that, but I think it is not fair to just say "it's not disrespectful, lol shut up".

Ha it's clear that you're pretty fuckin stupid. So when Travis kelce kneeled or drew brees kneeled during the anthem, somehow whites were ok with that? Uh no, this isn't a black vs white issue just as much as it isn't a left vs right issue no matter how bad you want it to be. Just as they have a right to protest, I have a right to be offended by it especially if I take the flag to mean something different. Nice try tho

We’re you done before 2009 or did you only start watching after the government paid the NFL to have players stand for the anthem? Get your jingoistic nonsense out of here Chuck. Did you give a shit when our President degraded John McCain for being a POW or do you only care when Kaep kneels for something that has nothing to do with the Military aka minority mistreatment in this country. You sir are a chump.

I sure would love to have a chat with you face to face. What is wrong with being a patriot? I did care when the pres belittled McCain. Colin K has EVERY right to kneel for the anthem. As I have every right to disagree with him. Please keep making more assumptions about me.Include more ad hominem attacks. Increases your credability. Go blue!

I just find your purposeful attempt at not recognizing the true purpose of the kneeling hilarious. why do you hate people standing up against racism in the form of kneeling during the anthem so much? Ohhh... there’s an MLK quote about this phenomena somewhere... Go Blue
