It's ok though, I'm not driving. I have a ride.

She's got tacos the size of her head in her hands, rendering her useless to do anything else with said hands?

I'm always up for celebrating a military defeat of France! Except, you know, when like, Germany invaded them. I don't celebrate that.
But seriously, does like Mexico really even celebrate this on a large scale? I feel like the equivalent is if Goose Island (aka, ABInBev) went down to Mexico and started pumping up Casmir Pulaski Day as some huge 'shove pierogi down your gullet and get drunk fest' holiday in order to sell more beer. Which, seriously, I wouldn't be surpirsed if they did that.
wait. it isn't?
It's called la batalla de puebla in Mexico.
Thanks. I was under the impression it was more celebrated regionally rather than nationally.

The real independence day is in September. Americans get more of a kick out of cinco de mayo though
You sound super fun to hang out with!
Hard tacos are inauthentic and an abomination.

I actually wondered when this thread would appear, knowing that the board would not have forgotten that it is Cinco De Mayo.
Let us toast the decisive victory of Ignacio Zaragoza Seguin's army over a French force approximately three times its size at the Battle Of Puebla (well, the first of two at Puebla anyway, the second being a French rout, as I recall, paving the way for the capture of Mexico City).
And let's not lose sight of what was at stake in this battle: the right of Mexico to default on their debts that theyowed the European powers. So, if anybody should be celebrating, you'd think it would be the Greeks.
well, except you, Germany.
Made a bunch of taco meat last night to last the week of dinners. Real excited to get all up in that after this workshop this afternoon.
