OT: Super Bowl XLV Irony
I was browsing a random site when I stumbled upon this interesting tidbit of information: The company that makes the Steelers Terrible Towels is located in Baraboo, Wisconsin. 110 miles SW of Green Bay.
In honor of the Packers making the Superbowl, the company, McArthur Towel & Sports, has brought back the 'Titletown Towel', which made its debut with the Packer's Super Bowl runs in '96 & '97.

That is ironic. I for one, want the Packers to win so that CW can get his SB ring finally. Add that to the Heisman, MNC ring, NFL defensive player of the year and multiple other awards, and CW is one of the best ever. Of course, he is already in my mind.

Indeed. Talk about one player having just about ALL the awards possible!

I'd like to see Woodson win the SBMVP as well. Just another award to add to his trophy cabinet and join some illustrious company as Heisman/SBMVP winners.
Do they still give out Cadillacs?

You mean like Desmond Howard has....with the SBMVP being with the Packers also.

North Texas? They couldn't just say Dallas?

Yeah that is odd.

...Dallas is basically like a four letter word in Green Bay. Probably the same reason certain folks use the term, "That school in Ohio," or equivelant. They may not even say that city's name in general conversation, much less print it on official merchandise.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too.

Well technically the game is in Arlington. But still why not just put Arlington, Texas.
February 4th, 2011 at 4:26 PM ^
..Since the stadium is technically in Arlington, about halfway between Dallas and Ft. Worth.
For instance, if we hosted something at the Palace I'm sure some Detroit locals would say "It's not in Detroit, it's in Auburn Hills".

and maybe occupies most of N Tx. But I agree, the North Texas label is unnecessary.

Here's why the Super Bowl is in "North Texas".

When asked how he reacts when he hears "Dallas Super Bowl," on national broadcasts, Arlington Mayor Robert Club told a TV station, "I don't ever get hurt feelings. I get anger."
Poor baby.

On another note, it may be time to drop the use of Roman numerals for Super Bowls. It was kind of cool at first, but not so much after 45 years.

I personally cannot wait for Super Bowl L in five years......

Or Super Bowl XLIX in four years. Brought to you by Ex-Lax!

What an unoriginal cop out..... Green Bay already has their own traditions with their legendary tailgates, cheeseheads, etc.
No need to be a bitch and co-opt someone else's....
