This game is on pace for the 80s. Ridiculously hot shooting by both teams. Izzo is furious on the sideline when on D.
in town for free camps
I take that back, this game is on pace for 100+ after 5 minutes. I don't think Tennessee has failed to score on a possession.
They finally missed.
My two wishes for the day. MSU needs to lose big. Obviously out of spite. Also, I need Duke to win, and hopefully make it to the Championship game. If they beat WVU, I think I win my bracket. Other than that, just hoping to see some more awesome basketball.
Also, sidebar, I discovered that a kid from my High School is the mascot for Butler. Interesting.
Open liquor bottle, sack of weed, and two guns? I want to hang out with the UT b-ball team.
Very weird when supporting a State team feels like cheering for the good guys.
Close game so far. I could care less who wins. My roommate is a die hard State fan so I guess I'll root for them so that he doesn't kill himself.
One Big Ten team in the Final Four is good for the conference. At this point it's really their tournament to lose now.
See, my roommates are state fans, and that is exactly the reason I root against them. It's also the reason I'm watching the game in my room, alone. I lose basketball/football IQ when I watch games with them.
Yeah, well he's pretty cool about his fanhood. He doesn't have the whole inferiority complex going on like most Spartans do.
Out of most of my friends who are State fans, he's prob one of the most tolerable.
Over/under on hearing an "S E C! S E C!" chant if UT wins this game?
I'm banging my head just thinking about it. So many Tennessee fans there.
JP Prince can get up. i think he has been on the receiving end of 3 oops this game. i hope tennessee wins.
A freaking air ball on a free throw. Wow
At least that time he got the net that time?
i wonder if the NCAA is freaking out that the final 4 could be butler, baylor, wvu, and msu/tenn? those aren't exactly giant TV markets...i wouldn't be surprised to see duke get a little officiating assistance today at the behest of the NCAA
That would be a glorious Four. Everything they promote. But I think you're right...CBS would prefer a MSU-Duke final.
but I am getting SO sick of Verne and Raft mentioning how Nix is really big (fat) and how Green is big, but not as big as Nix, so he's faster. Also, I don't know HOW many times they've mentioned that salute thing that that Tennessee player does. It's getting really quite irritating.
I have to laugh how Verne used "sardonically" in a national broadcast, confusing all Spartan fans.
They thought he said Spartanically. It's also not a word, but they don't know that, and are perfectly happy in their ignorance.
bruce pearl's son is not very good at basketball. im having trouble understanding why he gets so much playing time. he doesnt appear to be contributing anything...
teams have cooled down hard. This is a defensive struggle in the 2nd half. I have a feeling MSU's fouling spree this half is going to come back to bite them.
... and likely will be.
the calls not being made against MSU is remarkable. travels, hard body fouls, slaps on the arm, etc.
hell, i took MY shirt off Mr. Pearl on one of those bad calls.
I can't stand the "top of the backboard" camera angle for watching live action. It is usually not high enough to get a feel for the spacing of the players. The more I see it, the more it pisses me off.
hmmm...overall, ive thought the officiating has been pretty good. there have been one or two no-calls, but i think its been pretty even on both sides. i like the fact that the refs are just letting the teams play a hard fought, physical game. i hate it when they take over and dictate the flow of the game.
Women's Bball just destroyed Syracuse in the WNIT. Final four!
(On a plane) looks like a good one 66-66. I'm not sure who i want to win? Stadium explosion FTW?
Has he always shot this well? I feel like this tourney hes been on fire.
the hell was that not traveling?
Seems to always come down to this. Lucious makes it, game over. Instead they have 2 on the other end.
Great defense. Not.
Good lord, if I were a State fan, I'd have had a heart attack by now this season.
They seem to pull out these close tourney games no matter what.
Gotta admit that was a great play by Green. 70-69, Morgan shooting 1 with 1.8 left.
What the hell were they doing on that play? There were 11 sec left. Get back on D.
Chunk it off the rim intentionally to waste a second? Can't foul on the rebound.
I wouldn't put any MSU players down low for that reason. Don't risk a foul
I just see them fouling regardless of make or miss here. It'd be the Sparty No moment.
guard the inbounder!
You think there might be another way to defend a full-court inbound play desperation 3?
Nahhhh....Izzo doesn't know what he's doing....
Can't go a game without slipping in a shot at Beilein, can you?
There's a bit of a strategic difference in guarding the inbounder when your opponent can run the baseline (as in our game) and when he can't (as in this one).
No more than you can't go without mentioning moving on the baseline multiple times every time you post on an inbound play.
But I'm less frustrated with Beilein who admits he would have called timeout and done some stuff different than the posters who were so insistent that no one else would ever defend the play in any other way.
was that actually a shot?? wtf??
god fucking damnit
JP Prince got all ball on that play on Raymar Morgan.
two handed throw down and block on back to back plays. would of been nice to have him. hope Baylor wins.
Anyone watching the Baylor/Duke game? Hopefully, Baylor can carry the momentum through the halftime break and win this game.
