Literally, Ohio has problems with clock management. This is a retarded delay.
OT: Sunday Afternoon MBB Open Thread.
Maybe it's Rapture Guy and he's screwing with the clock to get revenge against Spartan Bob.
Not sure why Ohio band is playing blues brothers. They played it during our hockey series this weekend too. They need to focus on sloopy hanging on.
I heard that. I did a double take an the camera was panning the crowd. I could not tell if the crowd was doing the arm pump or not. I thought that was unique to us.
shed a tear if Adrian Payne had a career ending knee injury.
On another note, was Gary Harris smashed in the face with a frying pan? Check out how flat the front of his face and head is.
So ya I don't like them either but don't wish injury upon them....that's pretty awful.
That's a whole special level of stupid to say. Injury on a college bball player? C'mon.
Karma level -1.
Don't go there.
Points return in two weeks.
Wow, I just watched an hour and a half of bowling.
wow, sloppy game between ohio and msu
Thomas needs to get his shot going for Ohio, if they are going to have any chance of winning this one.
Also these timeouts are getting outrageous. There has been three commericals within about a minute of gameplay.
"If OSU would have won Thomas and Craft would have been gods"
OSU has zero offense. This game is ugly.
Sam Thompson may be the best jumper in CBB.
...but he's got nothing on GRIII.
That kid got hops.
OSU is horrible, they have zero offense at this point
Wow, the Spartans getting some preferential treatment at Ohio.
OSU shooting a solid 10% from downtown.
Of course no team does this against us. And OSU has had plenty of open looks. And just miss them.
Ohio makes those open threesagainst us but misses the same shot against MSU. smh
Multiple TO's lead to easy transition buckets for MSU. That 6-0 run was a true dong punch , especially in what was otherwise a slow-paced 1st half where buckets were at a premium.
The only silver lining...D. Thomas was shut down, yet OSU is still in this game.
OSU is 9.1% from the 3, MSU is 14.3% from the 3
I don't think it matters what MSU does. We still have to play them again. I ALWAYS want to see OHIO lose. Unless it means a direct shot at the title.
Well considering msu is 11-3 in the conference and we are 10-4 and they only have to play in Ann Arbor plus Wisconsin and Northwestern at home, and we have them and IU at home plus two road games, it would kind of help us regarding the title if ohio won today...
Agreed, because we want them to beat Wisconsin
Rooting for Ohio
Rooting for Ohio......I feel like such a whore!
it felt so wrong
Nice counterpunch by OSU. Up by 1 with 13+ mins left.
Anyone else notice the creepy looking Reeces Peanut Butter Cup costume in the Ohio student section?
We need to be huge Gophers fans this Tuesday.
As far as this game goes it probably is a tossup for me. Either team losing is good for us.
I hope Michigan is paying attention. Craft is a horrible offensive player but he is driving at will past Appling this afternoon. Methinks Burke should be driving it at Appling all day next week.
Makes me laugh every time.
This is the best thing ever
In the last 11 games
Since at OSU, we have been out scored by 7 points in the 1st half of games. In the 2nd half we have out scored opponents by 49 points.
Slow starts, killing us
deshaun thomas is good at basketball
Well he's good at half of the game of basketball anyway.
Beat me to it. He's an overrated one-dimensional player who whines all the time.
This is a painful game to watch. Ohio making it a close game after being up big.
OSU: 1-7 against ranked opponents. The lone win being over us. Wish Burke's shot had fallen through.
...is if the OOB pass had hit Izzo in the noggin.
Appling with a brutal game, again.
Not even mad. MSU losing is good for us in the overall scheme of things and Ohio will almost assuredly get crunked by Indiana. Hell, hosting Illinois won't be a gimme even though they should win that one.
Stay classy, Sparty. Fouling down 6 with .3 seconds left.
This is great. We're virtually assured of a top-5 ranking now, and we may have moved back onto the 1-seed line.
Just as we went through the Gauntlet (TM) a couple weeks ago and dropped two straight, OSU did as well and now MSU has. It's a tough league.
Anyone else wondering why OSU's win over Michigan doesn't count as a "season defining" win or whatever the announcers are talking about?
That bothered me too
except for the "I hope he gets hurt" comment.
Purdue probably won't go to any postseason tournament, but they're still playing hard for Painter. They're destroying Northwestern right now. Our trip to West Lafayette is a potential trap game, coming in between MSU and IU. Hopefully we'll be ready to go.
The CBI is still open to sub-500 teams.
CBI madness. It's awesome baybay!
I was thinking about this after watching Michigan State lose...
As an illustration of how difficult the Big Ten really has been, consider that the combined winning percentage at home for the Big Ten is 0.777, and compare that to the combined away winning percentage, comprised largely of conference games, of 0.416. Interestingly, however, although the ACC has a similar home record to ours, their winning percentage on the road is 0.371 and the Big East is 0.462 on the road.
As for our own record, the predictive stats would favor 3-1 the rest of the way, with Massey going with near-sure wins at Penn State and at Purdue. TeamRankings still has us as a greay shot to be at least a 4-seed if not higher.
Bottom Line: 1 loss by IU to either Minnesota, Iowa, or Ohio and Michigan controls its desiny to a Big Ten Title and probable/definite number 1 seed
