Looks like Suh is starting off on the wrong foot with the city of Detroit. Suh claimed when he was drafted he would not hold out and would sign by training camp. Well that didnt happen even though the 1st and 3rd picks in the draft signed. I would like to hear all the Nebraska fans talk about how great this guy is now. He is not in college anymore and needs to concentrate more on his JOB then Nebraska. Lions need all the help they can get and Suh not being there hurts. Sound off!
OT: Suh still not signed
...shouldn't have told Suh that he thought he was the best player in college football. That inflated his ego and his expectation$.
trade him to the Yankees for a bucket of balls. I feel like the Yanks need another DH/1B.
Parameters are set, they are probably just pissing over a million dollars or so. This should be done by now.
But, the differences between Bradford's and McCoy's deal leaves $15 million in negotiating room, both in guaranteed and total money.
My guess is that Suh and his agent feel that he was the best player in last years draft, and therefore deserve close to what Bradford is making. Meanwhile, the Lions think that Bradford received a premium for being a QB, and therefore Suh should receive closer to what McCoy signed for. I bet the Lions also don't want to pay Suh the same or more than they are paying Stafford.
There have been multiple reports, including from the agent himself, saying that Suh is not trying to get more than Bradford.
That was simply a rumor.
I wish I could fight over wether I will get $40 million guaranteed or $42 million. Just sign a damn contract already Suh. Either way you will be set for life.
Love the Heartbreak Kid avatar.
...that the agent is simply trying to pad his pockets a bit more.
You mean people try to make as much as they can at their jobs? I need to find my Matt Drudge siren GIF.
I agree. I read that a lot of agents are trying to get the highest possible contracts signed in this non-cap year to make themselves look better before a cap or wage scale is instituted. And this agent is the same one who rep'd Crabtree last year.
But still, Suh can force him to get a contract done if he really wants. It's ultimately his decision.
Eugene Parker and Roosevelt Barnes who orchestrated Michael Crabtree's hold out last year with the 49ers. FWIW
And, Bryant Westbrook's...
I don't know too much about either's personality, but I don't think Suh is anywhere near as arrogant as Crabtree.
are based out of Roanoke, IN a small town just outside Fort Wayne. Parker played basketball for Purdue Client list includes Bryan Westbrook, Emmitt Smith, Dez Bryant, and Deion Sanders. Both seem like pretty stand-up guys despite the somewhat egotistical athletes they have represented in the past.
The lions boards are going crazy wondering if d hart is going to go blue.
After holding out like this, he'd better make a difference on the field -- rookie or not.
Once he signs all bad feelings will be forgotten. No need to panic yet anyway, if Wed rolls around and he still isn't signed, then the situation changes.
teammates. I wonder how they will haze him, make him run across I-94?
Yes, because guys who are 2-30 over the past 2 years need someone to "prove something" to them.
Tell him that he can have some of that internet money.
Just need him in camp, at some point holding out makes no sense, get the contract done and get to the practice field. Niether the team Nor Suh get better if he isn't playing/practicing soon.
Should have signed a team guy like McCoy.
Seems like Suh's agents would have a nice date with Bron's bros.
the lions should let him know every day he holds out he becomes less valuable to the team. Make a fair offer and if he refuses it, lower the offer for every day he holds out. If he holds out much longer, he's not gonna be in any position to help the team when he does eventually get there. This is the one year where you really dont have to worry about a player refusing to sign an entire year and re-entering the draft.
