IF YOU ARE A PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE, DO NOT DO DRUGS. If you are not a professional athlete, DO NOT DO DRUGS.
OT: Steelers' Blount, Bell Arrested for Going Green
why you're "LS and Play" and not "LSD and Play"
NBA don't care. MLB don't care.
NFL's #1 sponsor is the beer giants, who have an obvious interest in keeping greens illegal; and thus we get to Josh Gordon's 16-game suspension for a positive drug test.
Or did Josh Gordon get suspended 16 games because he failed a drug test for the second time which is punishable by a years suspension per the contract that the NFL has with the union that he is a part of?
You mean this drug testing system that is ridiculous on its face?
Anyway, the NFL should really stop giving a shit about its players smoking pot. It makes them look worse than the "offenders."
The Bronco and Seahawk players are particullarly irritated.
To me this is pretty simple. you are part of a union that has a contract with your employer. That contract says, if you smoke pot then we get to suspend 4 games. if you smoke pot again, we get to suspend you 16 games. So just don't smoke pot or be prepared to face the punishment.
How many times does Josh Gordon have to try and flush his source of income down the toilet before people stop defending him.
is true, but it doesn't mean that part of the contract between the NFL and its union isn't extremely ridiculous. Obvious Ray Rice example is obvious.
That doesn't matter though. I'm part of a union that has a contract with my employer. Some of the things in that contract are stupid. If I continually violate that contract I'm sure I would end up out of work and no one would feel sorry for me.
I'll take things that other fanbases said about Mitch mcgary for 100 please. Just replace employer stuff with he accepted a scholarship knowing these rules and say no sympathy. It was dumb when it happened to mcgary and it's still dumb when it happens to other players. The players are also dumb for doing it. It's a viscous circle of stupidity.
So we are going to compare Mitch McGary to a guy who has failed multiple drug tests in college, multiple drug tests in the NFL, and recently added a DUI to the list. Seems fair.
Not a 16 game suspension. This is a 365 day suspension. He may miss 16 games but he'll also miss playoffs (if they make it) and the whole off season next year if this suspension holds up.
Are you including alcohol and caffeine in that?
Ha. I wasn't really being serious so much as I was making light of the OP's use of caps.
Do you need pot on you 24/7? Are you not able to just recreationally use from the privacy of your home?
IF YOU ARE A PROFESSIONAL ATHLETE, DO NOT DO DRUGS.
However, if you are in the NFL, feel free to beat your fiance in an elevator...I'm sure these two will receive at least two games more than noted abuser Ray Rice.
What a joke.
Interesting. Not really. I had a buddy who went to michigan state and he would hang out with Le'Veon Bell and other football players regularly. He also played sports there.
What he told me is that they all smoked pot regularly together. He has no reason to lie to me, because he knows I don't give a damn about what they do. As someone who used to indulge in the green stuff, he thought it would be interesting to me to tell me who he has smoked with up there.
I can say if MSU were to drug test their players after they came back from any of their breaks, they would undoubtably get some positive results. This goes for the MSU football, basketball, and baseball team.
Since I doubt my finding will ever do anything or be note worthy it's still interesting for me to know what they get away with up there.
I know, I know... Cool Story Bro.
Or, more likely, if you a professional athlete who is going to be drug tested at some point, you probably shouldn't do drugs during the preseason.
If you are a "PROFESSIONAL" ...
... RODEO CLOWN
This will damage a few careers and fantasy teams. Cumong Justin Blackmon...
So Blount had a blunt?
Beat me to it
History has shown Blount is also not afraid to resort to blunt-force in resolving conflicts.
His last name is Blount, what do you expect?
Yeah instead of drugs. Let the government pump you full of anti depressants and adderall!
the place for that discussion fella'.
Who refers to him as Labia Bell?
I ask my wife how to pronounce it every time I hear his name like I don't know.
nope. I have been calling him that since he was a starter at msu
Naturally, "Behind The Steel Curtain" is all over this story for you - LINK
If you were wondering how this might possibly affect them on the field should Bell and Blount somehow find themselves off of the field for this particular incident (at least for some time), they've got a concise answer for you:
Bell and Blount comprise of approximately 100 percent of the Steelers' game-experienced running backs. The Steelers did nothing in the offseason to replenish any further lack of depth that was partially filled by Blount.
More generally, if you are a person in the United States of America don't drive around with pot in your car. Or any drugs. Or unregistered firearms. Or hookers and fireworks. Basically, don't be an idiot.
dead hookers and live fireworks.
What if your state has legalized pot and/or doesn't register firearms?
Then you are in a good place, son.
Then don't leave, because the rest of the world is just going to disappoint you.
How are you supposed to get from the place of weed acquisition back to home?
some of my best road trips have involved drugs, hookers, firearms, and fireworks.
Fortunately I am white so cops don't bother me...
Them and 68% of the league.
I can see the headlines now in the papers
"Screwed by the Bell: Le'Veon caught with Blount"
Le'Garrette, Le'Veon, Le'Backfield... Le'Puff, Puff!
My main rival in fantasy has Bell as his #2 back. He also picked up Blount yesterday as a FA to buffer his RB stable. I am slightly gleeful at this news. I play him twice in the first five weeks. I'm hoping for a six game suspension for both.
You need a better hobby.
Fantasy football is the shit
It's the little things in life...
Legalize it. Biggest waster of taxpayer dollars in history.
but.. like... yeah.
I used a keeper spot on him!
Same. Literally used it a day before this.
Fire on that...it's 2014.
