I never thought in a million years that Disney would do an insane amount of licensing and hocking Star Wars merchandise. Especially after I saw about a thousand of these at Disney World this summer.

We're participating, but get left off of the "highlighted" rundown in favor of schools such as Nebraska, PSU, Virginia and Wisconsin.

 

I'm looking forward to the day when we finally return to full Evil Empire status.

Is it possible that the Kansas one can be Charlie Weis sitting next to Mark Mangino frozen in carbonite with Turner Gill simply standing off in one corner looking solemn? I think that would sell well enough. 

If you had asked me if Star Wars and football would ever intersect like this earlier today, I probably would have said, "Not in the near future anyway". So much for my predictions.

I love star wars, and I love Michigan football. I do not love these. I don't understand, they're forcing together things that do not belong together for a cheap marketing ploy to make... Okay I understand. But i'm not happy about it.

As a Star Wars kid myself, I think this is awesome, and I'll be buying up some UM Vader gear!   Everyone that knows me knows that I love two things: UM Football and Star Wars. I mean my nickname at work is "Wookiee" (I'm really tall, long hair, occasionally a beard, and huge Star Wars nerd).   This is about as close to "pure win" as it can get for me. :D
