This is why I wanted Stafford to sit for at least half of the year; I didn't want him to become what the more cynical of Detroit fans call "Lionized." It looks like the process has already begun.

As a person who has dislocated his knee 5 times, it's not the dislocation itself that is a problem. Once popped back in and swelling goes down, you are 100% within 2 weeks at the most. The problem occurs is that when it pops and dealing with athletes who have large legs muscles already, is that the torn MCl that goes with it. However, if he did not tear it this time, he still streches out the two ligaments holding it in place, thus making it more likely, he dislocates it again until he can build stenghth in those ligaments. With the help of the trainer, he should be able to do a much better job than I did of preventing further dislocations. It sounds counterintuitive, but dislocation are better to have than ligament tears.

The poor bastard had the misfortune of being drafted by the lions. What else did you expect. As the worlds biggest Lions fan I would be willing to bet that he wont play again this year, and will now never live up to the hype. Go Lions!
