"Love Me Sexy"
Mason NEEDS this, Pistons, after all you've put him through
"Love Me Sexy"
be complete without a Teen Wolf scene?
May I suggest this one...
It has it all (almost)...
1.) Fat kid playing basketball
2.) 80s shorts
3.) Dancing beaver mascot
4.) lots of slo-mo MJF basketball action
Unfortunately, it is missing the wolf, but that is about it.
White Men Can't Jump: "Gotta factor in the wind. 6 to 8 inches."
Major League: "Screw the curveball, give him the heater Rick!"
Major League 2: "I don't intend to slide."
My favorite Spike Lee movie and one of my two or three favorite sports movies. You could go with the opening montage or the final one-on-one game between Ray Allen and Denzel Washington, both set to Aaron Copland.
Ray Kinsella : Hey, Dad. Do you want to have a catch?
John Kinsella: I'd like that.
Maybe it's cause I never had any problems playing catch with my dad, or maybe it's cause I'm already bawling by that point, but that's not what gets me. Moonlight Graham, stepping over the foul line. That's what does it. Every single time. I can't take it, even just thinking about it chokes me up.
"Hey ump, how bout a warning?"
"Sure, kid. Watch out you don't get killed."
Thanks for all the comments and suggestions. There will definitely be some definitive changes....
How did we forget about Bull Durham? That'll get in there for sure.
Thanks for the suggestions on 'Any Given Sunday' and 'Tin Cup'. Two movies I haven't seen so wasn't able to make a for sure decision on.
I have actually seen Shaolin Soccer and did consider it, and now will more closely consider it. It's pretty hilarious, but I just didn't think it was mainstream enough at first.
As someone mentioned, Raging Bull is in there. I don't think I could have picked a better clip. Speaking of which, of the movies I have multiple clips, I'd like to narrow it down to one each. That'll be tough, so suggestions are very welcome.
Also, kinda random, but I'm pretty amazed at how often Bill Murray keeps popping up in sports movies. The guy is hilarious.
Also, FTR: language is not a concern - this is a drinking game after all. Classic movie scenes are good. Funny, classic movies scenes are preferred.
