But I figured since Rousey is probably the biggest star* in sports right now not named LeBron James...it was relevant in some capacity.

*I don't mean literally - I mean most buzz at this current moment with sports, movies, air time, etc.

Rousey was one of the most overhyped athletes to grace any sport. The definition of a one trick pony. Put some $$ on Holm and made some nice profit. Holm had superior movement and excellent striking, which absolutely dominated Rousey. I thought it would be more of a fight, but it really wasn't even close.

It's not a surprise really if you know martial arts... Ronda was idiotic to think she could out hands Holly Holm, a champion kickboxer/boxer... Ronda's hands are her biggest weakness. Instead of trying to wait for opportunity to shoot in she kept chasing and got tagged repeatedly.

In terms of hype I guess it could be up there...

And people really thought Rousey could beat up Floyd Mayweather ...

was partially due to women's MMA not having a high level of competition yet (like Wilt Chamberlain in bball). Rousey is a great fighter but has some glaring weaknesses (striking and no head movement) but her strengths usually finish fights before those weak areas come into play. Holm is a great striker and was able to land big shots because of Rousey's terrible movement, and combine that with her terrible strategy trying to box with a champion boxer rather than using her judo it isn't that much of a surprise she lost.

Apparently  it was in the similar time zone to Toyko.  Hey undefeated fighting people - dont fight in Asia area.  Thats where massive upsets happen.

Just an absolutely stunning loss for @RondaRousey here in Melbourne... She's still down on the ground

Have you seen that fight? Frazier beat the living shit out of Ali--they both dished out punishment, but Ali took an inhuman amount. He won because Frazier's people threw in the towel as Frazier's eyes were shut, but Ali collapsed in the ring right after the announcement. He had been ready to quit himself. Ali never recovered.

FWIW, I think Ronda Rousey was like a -2000+ favorite and the opponent was like +1000.

UFC (Betting wise), you very rarely see these massive upsets.

With the amount of money Mayweather has. I don't think he really cares that he is a piece of shit.

Hell if I had 1/16th of the money he has my family, and friends could all disown me. And I wouldn't give two fucks in the world because I could just buy new family, and friends.
